Blender 2.56b won't Run on old Ubuntu computer

Got an old salvaged Windows XP Home Edition computer a few months ago, internet wouldn't work on Windows so I installed Ubuntu 10.04 on it. Long story short when I tried to run Blender 2.56b the screen goes black, and the only way I can go back to the desktop is by shutting the computer off, and res...

Also I'm an amd64 Linux user which is why I'm not using Blende...

Re: Frame Rate Suggestion

With the bottom did you use alpha over/under, cause that's how you'd display the text above the video. Also use the compositor for video editing, there's so much more you can do with it, as the video sequence editor itself doesn't do everything I wish it did. I made a website called BlenderPimp , th...

I think I've seen this particular ad. before. It is kind of screwy, but from what I can understand I don't think it's illegal to use open source software as the basis of commercial software, but I wouldn't pay for this because it doesn't seem like any coding changes/improvements/additions have been...

Looks to me as if they have stole it, as the screenshots is Blender without a doubt the 2.49 version, and the 2.5 version.

Action needs to be taken with this fool

Left click and drag on the arrow (corner) that's right by the side you wanna join (as seen in the gif animation I made to answer this question below)

To split windows is the same way except you'd move your cursor the opposite direction.

There's a tool in Adobe After Effects called the Masking Tool (You can see what it's used for here[/url)

I'd like to see a masking tool incorporated in Blender.

Blitz is terrible, don't use it. I'd say Blender no doubt. I still haven't really got into game creation in Blender, but I've seen some very nice high quality games made in it, and some are really nice. here's a good video that has some great examples. If you wanna learn the Game Engine, or Blender ...

Actually no whats weird is when all my other videos in a .avi file format work, but not the new rendered one. Which I found to be really weird, as this never happened before.

Blender Render Video Problem

I was using the video sequence editor for a simple video edit, and went great, rendered just fine, but when I go to play the video in Movie Player (Ubuntu 10.04) I get the error below.

I thought of another update, mainly for the node editor, and/the video sequence editor. Ok well there's a plugin for Gimp called GMIC , and there's two filters in the plugin called Anisotropic smoothing, and Patch-based smoothing. Which in essence the filter softens images up. I personally mainly us...

I'd also like to see a way to render the project as an swf, and as a gif animation as well instead of importing the separate images into Gimp
