Thanks guys, keep them coming! (Both here, and directly in the wiki.)

The organizational applications start in about 2 weeks, so hopefully we'll be able to have the "Ideas page" updated with some of these ideas by then (after some developer review).

Regards,
Chris

Hi pildanovak,

Reading the libmv site, it sounds like they are already trying to integrate it with Blender. Are you familiar with the developers, or know the status of this integration?

Google Summer of Code 2009 Ideas

Hi gang, Below is a reposting of an email that I sent to bf-committers recently. If you have project ideas for Google Summer of Code 2009, you can either add them to the wiki page if you have the proper permissions, or post them in this thread and I'll try to add any reasonable ones to the wiki page...

Google Summer of Code 2008 projects announced!

Hi all, Google has just announced the successful projects for the 2008 incarnation of Summer of Code. We received six projects this year that you can read about here: http://code.google.com/soc/2008/blender/about.html I would like to thank all the students who applied this year -- the quality of pro...

Thank you for this build! I have to ask though: why have you changed the default scene? It seems strange to have an initial scene with the povanim script in a text editor, which uses an orthographic camera, and which has a subdivided cube.

I have worked a bit with an Onyx based CAVE-like environment, using the SGI Performer libraries. I have informally looked at doing a CAVE Blender thing in the past, but I was under the impression that the lack of multi-display support in GHOST was the main problem to getting this happening. Carsten ...

I'm sorry but there is a little mistake: make a plane, extrude edges to make a cube, than in object-mode make an original cube. If you than make a boolean difference (W3) you get an union and if you make a union (W2) you get a difference. This happens if one object is extruded. Hi suntzu, This is n...

Thanks a lot for the feedback on this guys, I've forwarded this thread to Marc, and hopefully he can revisit it when his studies permit him some time (I've looked at it a bit, but C++ makes me dizzy). I also had some problems with this under linux that were reported using the 'valgrind' memory debug...

Thanks for doing this for another year, Joeri.
As one who wasn't able to attend or watch the
streamed content (codec issues), I really
appreciate having the archived footage.

Crashes almost immediatelly after some boolean operations. "Unhandled exception at 0x7c911e58 in blender-booleans.exe: 0xC0000005: Access violation reading location 0x40000000." no problems with 2.37a or 2.40a1 --jr Hi jr, Does blender crash everytime you run the booleans, or sometimes it crashes, ...

Still get crashes! :( When blender crashes, it seems there is troubles with ntdll.dll (that's at least what is typed in the error window...) Use winXP. Hey lucky3, Just so we aren't bark up the wrong tree here: do you get similar crashes when using the old booleans? i.e., could you please try simil...

Thanks for the new build. I have now downloaded it and also i have downloaded the 2.40-alpha1 test build. why in the version alpha1 is not present this algorithm of boolean? Hi Tochiro, The main reason why it was not included is that there are random crashes (mainly under Windows XP) when using the...

Soc project: Booleans -- win/linux (2005/10/11)

Here are some updated builds of Marc Freixas' boolean project for summer of code. Some memory related bugs were addressed. Previous threads about this work are here: http://www.blender.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6927 http://www.blender.org/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6872 Instructions: Select two mesh obje...

I still get blender to crash when I model something, then I do a boolean operation (difference), and I edit my original mesh (move vertices...) and i redo the same boolean operation. -crash Apart from this, you've done a great work! Meshes are cleaner, and boolean becomes really useful. I wonder if...
