OSX does not support a PATH env var? "I think this sucks and is far too complicated. Just my two cents to that." Well of course is there a PATH environment variable. But I think PATH is intended to add whole directories to the PATH, not single applications. Anyway Yaroslav_L, there is another way t...

@joeri: Yeah, and then I need another account on blender.org:

1. blender.org forum
2. blender.org bug tracker
3. blender.org wiki

I think this sucks and is far too complicated. Just my two cents to that.

Hi, I run blender on a Mac Mini. Why do you want to run blender in a terminal? If you want to see the terminal output of blender check the Console.app. All output goes there. I always run blender from the dock or icon. Of course its possible to run blender in a terminal. Just type: $ path_to_your_bl...

I think this calls for render layers and composite nodes.

PROPOSAL: Math Node changes

The current implementation of the Power function in the Math Node calculates only base values (fist input) >= 0. Everything else returns zero: case 10: /* Power */ { /* Don't want any imaginary numbers... */ if( in[0] >= 0 ) out[0]= pow(in[0], in2[0]); else out[0]= 0.0; } This is because it is very ...

What you write is true and very annoying. It should be changed. The new node should be placed at the position of the SPACE menu.

There are two axis systems. "Right hand" and "Left hand". Google is your friend. Blender is creative based, not construction based. In this vision we see "depth" as something forward, not as "up". In 'normal' life UP can be regarded as height so that would be the -Z axes. I think you will find that...

Good idea. Although technicaly (not practicaly) this is already the case: Display settings are a datablock stored in the scene. But selecting display settings by selecting other scenes is not what scenes are for, so I think it's a good suggestion. That's exactly what you have to do now if you want ...

Proposal for Display Buttons save/restore

Why not let the display buttons be a data block like the material buttons. This would you enable to -save and restore display settings -use the same settings for several scenes -define your own presets by naming them and storing them with a fake user -use display settings from another blender file (...

Proposal for Nodes and Noodles

The Math Node is missing the square-root() or general root() function. This should be quite easy to implement. It would be cool if we could connect and disconnect noodles as with Apple Shake: Insert a node between two connected nodes: drag the node over the noodle until it turns yellow, then release...

Try my changes to the user-config.py regarding the OpenEXR libraries. You need both include paths because sometimes it's

Code: Select all

#include <OpenEXR/half.h>
and sometimes it's

Code: Select all

#include <half.h>
I don't know exactly why I need the OPENEXR_LIBPATH but I need it ...

@blendforever No, I havn't found a solution yet and I am totally stuck and waiting for days now for a word of wisdom of one of the developers. I could solve all the library related problems (missing or wrong paths) and everything is compiling fine until the final 'ld' call. Did you have any trouble ...

Just a few days a question very, very similar to this was answered on this forum. As an exercise to the reader: find the particular thread. I read this before I posted. Maybe I am to dumb, but I don't see a solution of my problem there. Could you please explain it to me more explicit? To your infor...
