thanks, it is working with internal blender rendering engine but not with yafray - or i don't know how to use the background with yafray? as for "a sphere maped with the sky", i was using same trick in formz and lightwave but the result was awfuly long so i gave up and not to eager to try that trick...

i couldn'd find how to render a back image as background for my renderings (i use a sky for my architectural models). somebody please could point out where is this feature. thanks _a_

b-constructor

i need a real "constructor" (blender-constructor) module in blender to be able to build (almost) everything. i use in a daily basis formz and i can build almost every object in it. i like that blender to have all this tools (boolean & co). _a_

sorry, "must have" is for real. otherwise blender is going to be very limited on large projects - or not usable for that at all. what kind of productivity you'll have if you're not able to do these "basic" operations? I will stop with this, if I don't hear from coders there's interest and a chance of implementation. thorwil is this just a screen shot or you already started to implement this as a project? i like to give you more ideas - i don't like blender to folow the same path as others with layers, we have bet...

layers must have all these basic properties:
- lock/unlock
-visible/not
-renderable/not
-rename
-color associated
-can be grouped
-copy an entire layer into a new project
-ghost/not
-snapable/not

in fact we need "real layers" with names, lockable, snappable, groupable, visible/not, renderable/not, copy and apste into other layers, etc. all these should be in next blender releases ... any of the developers doing this? ... thanks _a_

thanks for your advice ... i run that and is giving me :

' import site' failed ; use -v for traceback
Xlib: extension "GLX" missing on display ":0.0".
ERROR: Unable to open Blender window

couldn'd find the program 'blender'

i downloaded the static and dynamic versions after unpacking either one clicking on the blender executable is giving me this message ... ibm p3 , 500 mhz running mandrake 9 ... any help greatly appreciated

hello all, i have downloaded the source 2.30 and untar it. change the directory and ran "make" ... ran through ***configurator succeeded *** and end up with " make[3] : *** [drawstuff/src/drawstuff.o] Error 1 make[2] : *** [all] Error 2 make[1] : *** [all] Error 1 make: *** [all] Error 1 " any ideas...

importing from formZ ...

i'm importing from formZ via vmrl 2 as separate files, when import the model is "mirrored" ... how can i avoid this (beside mirrorinf prior in formZ, which btw doesn't mirror "text" objects) ... any suggestion/hint greatly appreaciated ...
