Sorry for not replying sooner. I have not been in the forum for a while! We do not have a pre-requisite for the class, but some will have experience from my drafting classes or Communications tech. I'll just expect more from them :-)

I hope to post some finished project.

Blender at CD High School

Nice to see a fresh push for this forum. I've been away for some time. Blender is being used in the Central Dauphin High School for the Drafting and Communication classes. Right now, we are finishing a project in our Technical Drawing 2 class (11th-12th graders) where they needed to select some type...

Sorry Blender is frustrating at first. It takes a long time and commitment to get good with it. Here's a book I wrote (free to download) that has helped a lot of people get started. I use it in my classes.

Good luck!

There was a group in Italy working on BlenderCAD a few years ago and they actually gave Blender a few CAD-like commands, but I haven't heard anything for quite some time.

Not sure about the exports from Inventor, but AutoCAD has dxf output options and Blender imports dxf (and a variety of other formats) quite well. At my school, we work with SolidWorks and export VRML (.wrl) files perfectly to Blender. We use SoftPlan for architectural and export our 3D models as dxf...

Narrowed it down to problems with Indeo 5.1 codec. It seems that something like a Cinepak codec works (but it's a crappy codec). Anybody else have any luck?

OK- New test- Created two movies in the new version. Made a test animation and saved it as an AVI file using Indeo video 5.1 codec and one using the new FFMpeg output. When I try to place them into the sequence editor, the mpg goes in fine, but the avi does not and crashes the program. Is this a bug?

Problems with 2.44 sequence editor

Is anyone else experiencing crashes while trying to insert a movie into the sequence editor? I've tried a variety of movies (all created in previous versions of Blender) and everytime I try to add one, I get an error and a crash. This is on the Windows build.
