Hey, I just ran across this problem recently, so I know the answer (or part of it anyways) 8) . Check your permissions on your scripts for execute permission: $ls -l should return something like: -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 1234 Jul 1 07:38 file.txt or -rw-rw-r-- 1 cmccad users 1234 Jul 1 07:39 file2.txt...

I'm not the best person to answer this, but I was under the impression that it was possible to compile for different platforms using one platform. I've never done it, but I remember reading somewhere that gcc at least has options for compiling binaries for other platforms. Does gcc run on OSX? HTH, ...

Part of the reason that there is such a lack is that (in my experience) textures are highly unique and/or easily created. For environments and cloth, all that is needed is either a digital camera (doesn't have to be expensive) or a regular camera and a scanner. The tweak the texture to your heart's ...

good point! maybe some render settings should be linked to the camera... or to make it more complicated: have a button in the display button "activate camera settings" which lets you define the render options in the camera buttons... oh well, i told you it's complicated. The way I would do it is to...

If you think this thread is your shot at shaping the future of blender then I think you are wrong. E Heh. "N.G.B or Future technology DISCUSSION (We need one)" is the title of the thread. Where else would you suggest posting about the future of blender? ;) Shaping the direction of the coding effort...

The long version: click me! The short version: The toolsets for CAD and the one for modeling/animation do not have a tremendous ammount of overlap. The only things which they share in common are geometry display, file translation, low-level modeling descriptions, and physics simulation (for FEA and ...

First, let me say there's a lot of good stuff going on here. Personally, I am happy with the direction the current blender technology is headed. I haven't really formed an opinion on Verse yet: I think that, if handled correctly, it could be a good thing. On to the topic of the NGB's technology. Sin...

Okay, here you go: The RE_callbacks.c basically defines a group of functions which call other functions. The process goes like this: Step 1: Define a function which will get render data. Call it anything you want, like my_get_renderdata(). It should have the same number of parameters and should retu...

Don't expect immediate replies about code stuff. The few people who can answer this kind of thing without a few hours of reading code are busy with lots of other stuff. Having said that, I am willing to look into this for you, but nothing beats doing it yourself ;) . As for where to post... I haven'...
