Yes that is legal. Unless some law in your country makes it illegal. http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by/3.0/ You can even resell it as long as you also credit where it came from. But that is not really accepted by the community. Most of the blender foundation cc3 productions are very big in file...

What makes you think that the people who do the work do not have great ideas themselfs? Or is it that you want these developers to spent their own time on your ideas? I think it would be better if you start to learn programming and make your great ideas yourself. I think you can guess why. Paper mag...

Optimize for creation or for render.

For creation you want a big gfx card.
For render you want fast cpu and loads of memory.

I'm puzzled as to what you think blender is for. that blender might be capable of pre and post production of small animations I'd like to work on. Hence... this is part of the pre production. The sticky board that I can't find is the only thing that seems to missing from my pre part, as the text ed...

euh... Yes. Do one you really like. It's going to take a heap of time, you don't want to spend that on a car you hate. Here are some general ideas on how to model a car: http://www.3dtotal.com/team/Tutorials_3/AMC_Car_tutorial/AMC_Car_tutorial_01.php http://www.3dtotal.com/tutorial/softimage_xsi/196...

What does Dark Basic use? AC3D? What format does that use to export to DB?

It looks like DB uses .X and .CSM files.
I think blender can export .X but not .CSM files.

You could try their Cartography Shop and see if it imports .OBJ or .FBX

I'd resort to python for this. There is no "100 different spheres" button. So if you don't want to create them by hand then you'll need to write your own script. But manualy: For the size you could consider randomly selecting spheres and press S with the scaling set to 'individual centers'. Hold shi...

If you are demanding a one click solution then why the import? Why not "make nice animation"? That's a far more usefull single click solution. But I know what you mean, other software has the own fileformat in the import list and lets you 'add' a file to the current one by importing it. Still, it's ...
