DWG support for Blender

I have written a wrapper around the dxf scripts of Blender to implement dwg support. You can read more about it on my blog: http://pythonide.blogspot.com/2009/04/d ... ender.html

I hope it might be useful for some of you.

Re: Modifying areas/screens/windows

Hi all, I'm trying to write a script that will take the current windows/areas/screens open in Blender and edit them (move them, delete them, change their type ie. the 3D view to the Text Editer). Is this even possible? If so, can someone offer some input as to how I might go about this? Kind Regard...

Re: Python and the EventHandler

Hello I'm just getting familiar with the Python API. What I understand right now what it is in 2.48a is: You can run a script and then after it does its job the script will be terminated. my Question is: Is it possible for a script to be fired up and then is running in the background and also catch...

It seems more natural to me to draw directly in the script window. You don't need to create a window.

Standard Python Console inside Blender

Blender did not provide an interactive shell by default in the past. This changed a bit with the Interactive Python Console of Campbell Barton (aka ideasman42), which is accessible from the script window (Scripts > System > Interactive Python Console). Unfortunately this console does not support cop...

Great! I have incorporated the basics of it in the Blender Project Management Toolkit CVS. (The project is at http://projects.blender.org/projects/blenderproject/ .) It seems that the current Python unittest module will not, without some modifications, run unit tests from within Blender (at least I...

SPE 0.8.1.b Python IDE (complete rewrite for running files)

Release news from http://pythonide.stani.be This release is the result of a complete rewrite of the run system. It's now possible to run multi-threaded applications (like wxPython, gtk, ...) with SPE and still control them through the debugger. Also selected text can be executed in the shell. Read m...

If you have to load only one Blender file, you might also consider:
1 open first this blender file in blender
2 import your script in this file
3 run your script

I know and I also regret it, but there is nothing I can do about it. I really hope that the blender coders provide another event system, so this would be made possible.

SPE 0.7.5.e - Python editor updated for Blender2.40!

Unhappy with Blenders text editor to write Python scripts? This Python IDE can run inside and outside Blender. Open the spe.blend file and press Alt+P. Spe has a Blender browser which can show all objects and modules in hierarchical tree control. Spe runs stable under Windows, Mac and Linux. Copy th...
