After I posted I sort of realized Blender didn't hold that ground, but for an open source program, it was unprecedented to have a realtime game creator embedded in the program. I never had much hope for the web plugin, it was too early for its time, it really was awesome though  I love that lit...

XAML & Silverlight

As I see it, these technologies by Microsoft our best buddy are set to take over the features that the game engine 3d web plugin was meant to do a couple years ago (and never got wheels with developers here.) If anyone else has worked at all with the new Silverlight, Expression, XAML, and 3D, you'd ...

My review:
Awesome!

Controls ARE wierd, but the demo is really good in terms of progress.
Try opening up the normalmap.blend in Blender's game engine -- you'll see much worse results. So, in that case, things are looking good so far!

Re: CrystalBlend Binary Release

Here is the link: http://www.crystalspace3d.org/CrystalBlend/crystalblend_win32.zip. Let me know if you have any problems or issues with this. This link is bad and should point to the CrystalBlend Lite page, where you can dl the latest version, although I don't know if jorrit will be working on any...

Ahh... I misread "integration". In terms of Blender and Unity complementing, it sounds like a great duo. Yes, as davidhelgason pointed out, this is a great feature of Blender, to be able to model in it and then take and make your projects even better elsewhere. Python has only helped improved this p...

I agree with levon here since integration would be pointless if Unity isn't open source, and it definitely is not. Good for Unity users, but wouldn't help Blender at all in terms of free (speech) software. Overall, I'm most interested in how they put together a web plugin for Windows, and if that ma...

Re: MS intentions for Open GL?

although threatening in some way isnt really that big a thing compared to the tonnes of software (mostly commercial) that also wont able to operate under their new computing system. This makes me think, what about other 3d software like Maya? Think of how if these rumors are true, they will lose ha...

I think the visible axis stuff doesn't really add much.. I would hope that when features get added to blender, features that don't make sense are removed, like this one.. Or at least, made capable of being toggled off.. If you're talking about the 3d transform widgets there is clearly a button to t...

I understand that you're building the main Blender, but I'd have to say that going with a cvs build is a better choice if you're really trying to build the ActiveX control or all of Blender. Myself, I had problems building blender-2.36 too, and I also got many link errors. The fresh source will alwa...

Hello, I was able to build the ActiveX control from cvs 2005-03-01. I don't have any tips for MSVC2003 because I'm using MSVC6, but, if you are getting linking errors for '__mb_cur_max', '_pctype', and/or 'errno': 1. Create a file called linkerrors.cpp 2. Add linkerrors.cpp to the GP_axctl project (...
