Very nice indeed. So much less daunting than the C plugin interface. Couple of points: - Seems I have to map the texture to the col channel AND the alpha channel to see the effect of the colour function in the preview or the render. Map to col channel only and it doesn't work. - What's the effect of...

Hi enrico, Do you mean my script at www.flippyneck.com? It wasn't written to support animation I'm afraid, though it is a good idea. Maybe I'll try and update it one day to include animatable deforms. Joeri is right, the Python forum at www.elysiun.com is a better place to ask this kind of question.

Has anyone else seen this? http://artis.imag.fr/Projects/Style/index.html The demo is a bit unstable but the results are amazing. I tried using Blender's 3DS export script to export meshes but they wouldn't load into Freestyle. The site states that the sources will be released but they're not there ...

Setting an OGL Perspective Matrix to Match Blender's Camera?

Can anyone tell me how to reverse engineer the lens setting of Blender's camera to set the fov for a perspective matrix in Open GL such that the OGL view exactly matches the render from Blender? In Eaguirre's swf export script he uses: cmra = obCamera.getData() fovy = (2.0*atan2(34.5/2.0,cmra.lens))...

It can be done - check here: http://www.blender.org/modules/documentation/236PythonDoc/NMesh.NMesh-class.html#hasVertexColours import Blender from Blender import Object obj = Object.GetSelected()[0] dat = obj.getData() # Remove vert col... dat.hasVertexColours(0) print dat.hasVertexColours() # FALSE...

Great news about Ink9000 integration. I hope it goes well. I've found some great information on models for simulating pencil drawings which are listed below. Some dabbling with Python/Blender Open GL has had some interesting results: - Different pencil types http://www.flippyneck.com/temp/ptscreeny1...

Starting an NPR Wikki?

Following on from the recent discussions on a node-based shader system and subsequent wikki, I wondered if anyone was interested in contributing to one that would gather collective thoughts on options for improving Blender's NPR rendering capabilities? I have nearly completed a review of Blender's c...

Like joeri says, you can append any Blender data type from another file. My (now very old) materials library is here: http://www.geocities.com/pollythesheep/matlib_index.html Read the 1st tutorial http://www.geocities.com/pollythesheep/matlib_tutorial1.html for instructions on how to append material...

Endo is 100% Python; it's a rewrite from scratch which explains the lack of speed. Wings is in Erlang. I just checked the Endo sourceforge site and it looks like the guy has got around to adding some more stuff after about a year's inactivity. My programming knowledge is limited, but what I get from...

an-toni, I read your piece on Blender in Python. Just thought that you might be interested in comparing it with Endo: http://p212.ezboard.com/fnendowingsmiraifrm8.showMessage?topicID=306.topic It's an attempt to port Wings 3D to Python. I've tried it and it works well enough, but the performance is ...

Is it possible to link a World to the current Scene?

I asked this at Elysiun but there don't seem to be any takers. I'm trying to link a newly created world to the current scene, but this... import Blender sc = Blender.Scene.GetCurrent() w = Blender.World.New('Test') w.setHor([1,0,0]) sc.link(w) ...does not work. Can anyone help me out here please?

Object-level deforms: Feature proposal

I just completed my 'Taper & twist' script which you can find in this post at Elysiun: http://www.elysiun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=20318&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=30 This allows a (mesh) object to be tapered, twisted, 'pinched', or 'bulged' along either of its 3 local axes with fine control ov...

Is it possible to add 'cursor to current p.o.v' to the shift+s menu? In perspective viewing mode this would allow quick placement of a camera, lamp etc who's location and direction matched the current viewing position.
