Just to add to this thread........how does everyone else use the GE? Surely almost every type of game will be effected by flickering motion. Do the majority know how to set this up in the game logic? It would be nice top know. Thanks.

2.42 GE problems for Erwin
Hi Erwin, Thanks for your continued work on the GE. I believe that it is really worth the effort. However, I have a question that I have posted since the 2.37 version. On my PC, any movement of objects, or in the case of a tracking camera, shows jerky or flickering movement. The key presses also sho...

Thanx for the reply Erwin, and thanx a lot for your ongoing work on the game engine. I'll have a look at those files that you mentioned. I have a lot to learn about all of this. Most of my work has been a IPO animations in the GE, and it has been really useful. I have a new project now where I need ...

Some more 2.4 bugs
Thanks to all for the hard work in developing the latest version. I have a Pentium 4 3Ghz with a GE Force 5700 256 meg graphics card. When I run a previous game created on 2.34, the moving objects using IPO's become jerky when using a follow camera. The sound has also been effected and seems to foll...

Questions on new Game engine
Hi All, Thanks to the hard working team who produced the latest version 2.37. Blender just keeps on getting better! I just would like to know what the changes are in the new GE as regards the IPO's. I have a program generated on earlier versions, the last being 2.34, and the key press functions are ...

The Gamekit book is an excellent intro into 3-D games and game engines. I have been using mine for the last two years or so, and I still use it. The Blender game engine has not changed much with all of the upgrades, so the book is still relavent. The differences in the newer versions are easy to fig...

I have not tried the sound again in 2.35/2.36 because the keys dont work well in my model plane simulation. The IPO's are effected by the press and release of the keys. I will re-load 2.36 again, and do some more testing. I need to learn Python it seems! My last bit of programming was done on "steam...

I did some more testing in 2.34 yesterday, and found that the doppler works if you start the game with the sound assigned in the "always" sensor. If you use a key to start the sound, then it works when the key is held down. If you let the key go, the doppler is disabled. Alternatively, you can use t...

Re: Kester, Saluk...please help!
Hi Guys, I've posted this a few times before, and I apologise in advance for bringing this up again. The doppler shift in the listener settings does not work properly in the game engine. It works when the camera (listener) moves with a moving object, and then moves independently at the same time ie...

2.35 and 2.36 Game engine IPO bugs
Hi All, I tested the game engine in 2.35 and the latest 2.36, and it has bugs when I use the keys to trigger IPO's in my program. It seems like it reads the press and release of the keys differently to the previous versions. I use objects under the terrain scene in my program, and then IPO's to brin...

Why is my scene slow now??
Hi All, My simulation of the control-line model plane aerobatics pattern is now looking great, and it has become very useful in training of judges and pilots for competitions. I needed to have "pop-up" 3-D maneuver shapes, and because Blender can't draw lines or wire-frame pictures at the same time ...

I have just bought a new PC with P4 processor (3Ghz) and a GE-Force 5700 card. It's awesome and so far no problems on Blender. My previous card had the TNT-2 chipset and texturing in the game engine could not show gradients. The new card works great. Now I can really see just how awesome Blender is....
