Hi, Ton referred me to this thread. Let me first say that the usability and friendlyness of blenderartists.org is a great priority to me. I know we have a great responsibility to Blender users. Let me clarify the moderating situation of the forum: - users who register at the forum must pass a bot-ch...

I'm pretty sure that if you had told the competition organiser that you had
problems with bandwidth, they would have come up with a solution like not having to post the link in a public thread.

I say we have a big donation campaign and buy autodesk! Seriously large aquisition, but I read that they have no plans to change maya in the near future. They both have very different customers anyway, I guess they will focus maya on the movie industry and max on the games. http://img.photobucket.co...

AHHHHHHHHHHHHH
If you knew anything about bitorrent you'd understand why they use it. you just can't host a 400 MB file and let a few hundred/thousand people download it from that place.

Would it not be an improvement already if blender automaticly rerenders what is in a render border on, say, mouse release? Saves pressing F12. I think this wouldn't be a very nice workflow, if you accidentally draw the wrong border you have to cancel the render, then redraw..... Since there is a ki...

on the merge face feature: I've coded this a while ago, and so did ideasman (in python) but it never made it out of tuhopuu. Main problem is the control of the merge, you can either choose for an automated merge (closest face corners merge) or a very controlled merge (indicate wich corner should go ...

When I render on my laptop I have to minimize the renderwindow because the drawing of the rendered image actually slows it down VERY much (crappy videocard). Try that (considering your ati card)

StayOkay Vondelpark hostel arrangement

Hi, I'm trying to gather a group of people that are planning on staying at the vondelpark youth hostel during the conference. We've done this for the last 2 years and we've had good experiences with it. If enough people are interested I can book a group at the hostel (with discount). This will also ...
