Ah, OK, I'll do that then. :)

Thanks,

Re: Facemodes screwed up in Python

OK, I've just tested it with 2.30, and the problem is still there. After more experimentation, I've found that the problem only appears when a mesh has no UV coordinates: Create coordinates -> all facemodes are 1, delete coordinates -> all facemodes are random. Just wondering, does this thread still...

Facemodes screwed up in Python

Hi, Sorry if this has been mentioned before, I've searched for it, but can't find it anywhere. Basically, the problem appears to be that the NMFace.mode field is uninitialised when getting the mesh data from a newly created mesh. It stays this way even through file saves/loads. This leads to complet...

1)make a new mesh object based on the previous one and call update(1) on it, then call getData() to get the data as a python mesh and export that. This sounds like the best way to do it, but is there some way to delete the new mesh object once I'm finished with it? 2) you could try to calculate the...

myObject = Blender.Object.Get('MeshIn3DView') myMesh = myObject.getData90 ##apply transform## myMesh.update(1) #recalculate vertex normals.. Yes, I considered this, but I don't want to modify the original objects, just the exported versions. I also considered putting the mesh as a new object using ...

Recalculate vertex normals from Python?

Hi, I would like to be able to recalculate the vertex normals for a mesh from within Python after applying a transformation (for example, scaling), in order to be able to export them. As far as I can tell, this is not possible in Blender at the moment. Are there any plans to add this capability? If ...

FileSelector - buggers up exception handling, set filename?

Hi, I've just had my first Blender Python scripting experience, writing an exporter, and I found an interesting "feature". I'm using the Window.FileSelector function to select an output file, and I've noticed that it seems to royally stuff up Python's exception handling. If an exception occurs, the ...
