Using the unified renderer fixes that too, except the UR has other problems now... :?

theeth which edge to slide along could be based on mouse location relative to the edges and motion relative to the original mouse location. Ie take the vector from original vert/mouse location to current mouse location. and decompose the vector relative to the two nearest edges connected to the ver...

How would you choose which edges it slides along?

Really, what I'm asking for here (and I'm pretty sure other devs will agree) is to have some sort of workflow proposal as far as UI is concerned.

The problem is not the code, it's how you interface with it. :)

Re: My list of GUI enhancements...

Transforms When transforming an object with the mouse, i.e. scaling, it's frustrating when the cursor hits the side of the screen and can go no further. Especially if I am attempting to transform to a specific value. Since the position of the cursor has no significance during transformation, could ...

Just use Push/Pull (Shift-P).

It's a non-proportionnal scaling option. That means all elements are pulled or pushed away from the center an equal distance.

Been in there since the transform refactor.

The vertex color to uv image baker you mean? It didn't. Not enough testing and code review (the code is a bit shaky).

Another solution might be using face normals. Just including all the faces that point aways from the bone.

This might not work in all the cases though, but those cases are probably marginal.

Biggest limitation is that it would depend on sane face normals.

The patch is fairly new, and probably too close to official release for a proper review by Ton.
Actually, this'll probably be reviewed by our mesh edit module owner, GuitarGeek.

Just export to a Wavefront .obj file and use that instead. Why? Because loading Blender files directly is most probably not going to be easy, while .obj files are piece of cake. There's also a lot of tutorials on the web that use the .obj format to load a file, you can find them at NeHe, gametutori...

Re: Envelope Request (Easily Implemented, AFAIK)

EDIT: BTW, I hope doing this was not what you meant by "Solid Volume Testing" This is exactly what I meant by volume testing. :) Maybe the envelope should effect only verteces that can "reach", following edges within the envelope, the vertex with the shortest distance to the bone. Yeah, that might ...

Re: Envelope Request (Easily Implemented, AFAIK)

Again, I want to stress that this CAN be an option for particular bones (like a button that says "Affect only Connected" or something similar) and if this doesn't make sence, I can get pictures to help show what I mean... At first it seemed like a good idea and then I thought: Connected to what? Co...
