Hi. The problem is that you need to set FREE_WINDOWS=TRUE in your user-def.mk file. I've had this happen to me lots of times when checking out into a new folder. Just to this at the Cygwin (bash) prompt: cd C:/bf-blender/blender echo 'export FREE_WINDOWS=true' > user-def.mk That should do the trick!

If there's no text on the viewport shading, I don't see why the mode needs it, it's just wasting space right now. Well, the edit/object mode is very general and important, its something the user should always know. It causes a lot more changes (buttons appearing, etc) than the drawing mode - so it'...

Spawned objects can't be particle emiters. But particles can be particle emiters. Thanks for that clarifying answer  If you don't know what he's talking about, he means that a particle can have generations - when one particicle dies, it will create new ones. You can control this with the CurM...

the new transform widget stuff is very cool. However, there's a problem with changing modes (local/global/normal) - there is no indication whatsoever what mode you're in. I still like matt's MMB toggle idea - i'd like to try it, even if it seems wierd ;) Also that would be a quick way to turn widget...

- what to do with G,R,S hotkeys? It could switch the manipulator "mode"... - header button/menu for manipulator mode? I think the hotkeys definitely should change the "mode" of the manipulator. Also, if the mode buttons are shown in the header, it should be done like the vertex/edge/face mode selec...
