when I (Ctrl + X) and delete all, the cube remains.

It finally worked, although i don't know what was wrong initially. anyway that's the way i like to learn, by making errors. So another question is why does Blender v. 2.32 start up with a cube in the 3d window?

i tried clicking the anim button instead, and it appears to perform the particle anim, from a top view, but with scanning as though it wa rendering it. but the whole thing wont play in the normal window view. i'm wondering if the book actually provides all the steps in this exercise.

i put it on the one suggested (0.100) but i don't think i tried anything else, should i try different values?

PARTICLE SYSTEM

hi, I'm running Blender v.2.31a and also the older v.2.03. I have purchased the 'Official Blender 2.0 guide' and tried to make my first 'particle system' using steps on page 134. However when i follow these steps and run the animation...nothing happens. What am i doing wrong? i've followed the steps...

Hi, well i must say it is very interesting to read your comments regarding Blender over Maya. I have only just started to learn Blender, and i think it is excellent. I really respect people in the industry like Ton Roosendaal. Imagine creating something and then releasing it FREE! open source etc......
