Script: Package blend with relative-path images

I've just been using today this script I made a few months ago - it's very handy so I thought I'd post it. This script takes a copy of the current blend file and puts it in a dir called "packaged_[date]". It then copies all the linked images (eg for uvs) and copies them to a subdir and gives the ima...

So is there some way of doing that through python? As soon as I open a new file, it messes up the running script. Is there a way around that?

Is there a way to make a python script run on .blend open?

Scene.Unlink() doesn't delete scenes?

I've got a 300mg blend file with multiple scenes. I want to export each scene to a separate file to make them easier to work with. I am doing this by deleting all scenes but one and saving in a new blend file. When I use Scene.Unlink(scene) to delete the scenes it appears to work right, but when the...

Duplicating child objects - is this a bug?

I have an an empty that is parented to another ampty. Both have rot keys. If I duplicate the child empty, the new empty is also created as a child of the parent object (good). Now, if I rotate the new child and give it a rot key, the keys also change on the original child empty! I am using shift-d t...

dotXSI exporter?

Hi, I may need a dotXSI 3 (Softimage XSI 4.0) file format exporter for a possible job I've got coming up. I have searched the forums here and on Google, but I can't find one. Does anyone know if one exists? If there is not one available it would be worth my while paying for someone to code one for m...

Australian download links not working

Hi, I've found the last 2-3 times I've tried to download binaries from the Australian mirror they cannot be found - windows and linux binaries.

It's not a prob - I can download from another mirror - just thought I'd let you know.

Wow!

Wow! Ideasman, this is the best script you have ever produced! The results can be very, very organic and jungle-like - I love it!

Very, very impressed!

Just copy and paste it into the directory with blender.exe - it works perfect for me too - thank goodness because I panicked when I first got my new Radeon 9800 XT card and blender was hardly usable!! There were lots of forum topics on elysiun that I found to learn how to do this - but I really thin...

numeric input for uv window tools?

Hi, I love the new uv tools, very very cool. However, I can't seem to figure out how to "mirror"? I used to select the uv points in the uv window and press "s", "x" to scale along the x-axis by -1 -- but that doesn't work anymore. In the 3d window I can do the same mirror operation by choosing the p...

Solution

It's okay, I just changed my windows username to one without spaces!

Blender subsequently compiled very nicely :D

Thanks heaps to whoever wrote those auto makefiles!

Sounds good, but I can't figure out how to change to that directory from the cygwin terminal. It automatically logs me in to the "home/<username with spaces>" directory, and I can't figure out how to change to a directory that is back one level (like you are suggesting).

Noob question about compiling with cygwin

Hi, I've been trying to compile Blender using cygwin. I've never used cygwin before and I get error messages that are caused by having the default username as the same name as the windows username, which has a space in it. Here's what the cygwin site has to say on the matter: In particular, the envi...
