Blender on Mac OS X is a 32 bit application, so it is likely that it will use at most 3 gigs of RAM, no matter how much you have on your system... However, being given the ability to allocate RAM in Photoshop doesn't allow you to bypass this limitation ! So you won't use more RAM with Photoshop or a...

Hi Radiance ! It's a great idea you have there ! :D I hope your project will succeed ! I'm not really a coder. In fact i'm no coder at all, but recently i wanted to test Yaf(a)Ray on my mac and since Lynx (the coder behind Yaf(a)Ray...) doesn't have a Mac at all, i had to make some changes to the co...

Re: WHAT DO YOU WANT IN NEW VERSION ????

This post, i think, must describe - what features artists really need. May be this help coders little? Ok, I start from me... :O) I need GI. Native build in GI render! :O) P.S. Please, don't tell about YafRay or other renders. Just tell - what YOU need. Do you mean a native renderer capable of this...

Re: Dual core rendering????

Does blender support dual core rendering? Like 3ds Max? I know there is somekind of build that should support conroe's, but is it just optimized, or real dual core rendering? I don't really know what you think when you are talking about "dual core rendering", but the renderer of Blender is multithr...

Hi ! I've tried to compile Blender on my MacBookPro, under Tiger using the CVS from the 24/09/2006, and i get a lot of warnings and errors ! I'm trying to figure how i can "bypass" some of the errors by setting on 'false' a lot of calls to the external libraries... (BTW, it seems that the dar...

More render layers ?

Hello ! My question is quite simple : During the beta cycle of the 2.42 release, there was a lot of rendering layers available (ie. Ray, Shadows, AO, etc, etc...) But i have seen that for the official release, a lot of those were actually busted... Are those options to be included back in the future...

Hello ! If you're running an SGI on irix, i'd recommend to browse the Nekochan forums, where you will be able to find the most recent build for your computer ! In general, Nekochan forums should be the prefered destination to any SGI user... Check it out, and don't hesitate to ask questions, the com...

I can try in another software (i.e. LightWave), but i'm pretty sure i'll have the same behavior... Regards, Laurent aka Tartiflette...
