Topic: Blender for windows console (dos) window?

thought it would be cool to have a console inside blender... maybe as a new window type... this separate console window makes blender look less 'professional' imho. But the coders are progressing so fast on the other side... I really don't have enough courage to ask for this kind of feature...

Select those doesn't cross the current selection

I know it is almost shameless to ask for more while so much features are coming in... Just an idea which I think would be useful. Imagine you have a animal model. say a cat. Now you want to select the tail, but it's positioned in such a way that no box select can do it without selecting some other v...

Here is a little mock up

http://img79.echo.cx/img79/5382/screenshotblender0uh.png A mock up. Maybe this is better called axis selection... And there should be something corresbonding to the snap menu, i.e. snap the cursor axis alone the selected face, or selected edge, etc. A second thought after I have done uploading the ...

Orientation Selection

with the new manipulators you can select a third orientation (normal) than the existing global and local axis. This function is not available through the "traditional" way, or at least I don't know. Why don't we make orientation selection something like pivot selection (right beside it in the header...

While I can do ctrl+shift stuff with one hand too, I think it's a lot easier to do something like G G or RR. I think it's a lot easier to have some 2-key commands then the super-combinatory-keys. It won't be difficult to implement though, we only need to come up with a well designed hot key set. How...

 thanks for the reply... I'm just about to think the compiling process as a mysterious voodoo and begin to pray..

I'll have to go through the scons document anyway. every time it compiles buildinfo.c , which is painful to wait if I'm gonna tweak some code....

How to compile in the new CCGSubSurf ?

Hi I'm having trouble compiling in the new subsurf library. I'm compiling tuhopuu with scons on linux. I've tried adding USE_CCGSUBSURFLIB = 'true' in the config.opt file, alongside with those USE_INTERNATIONAL declarations. I can get a binary but there is no new CCGSubSurf option in there. What sho...

Re: Blender & OpenGL ,DirectX

Maybe someday we can have an OpenGL renderer... Which is really good for animations. Imagine the render time. Wow. 8) Blender uses OpenGL, but it will not be doing anything like what you linked to until the developers feel it is a good idea to require a new graphics card [radeon 9500 or geforce 3 or...

It would be really convenient

It would be really convenient if blender automatically scan a certain directory and make all materials in there appear in a 'presets' menu. If we can have a directory, every one can release libraries beside the official lib (if there will be one). Oh, the thumb nail preview function will be fantasti...

scaling in 2 dimensions

I'v posted this on elysiun before, but I think this is the right place, so I just post it again. and finally I got an account here :) I often want to scale in 2 demensions, e.g. scale the x and y coordinates and keep the z coordinate. How about this: when scaling, press alt+z to suppress the scale i...
