added two objects. put boolean modifier on one. click apply. non-specific windows crash.

afaik the dimensions of your laptop's screen shouldn't make a difference in its performance in that way.

i would conjecture that your graphics card is the major problem.

correct me if I am wrong.

now, i hate to bring up maya again, but does the modifyer system work like maya's history? can, say, a boolean operation be edited after the fact?

how about a geometry constraint? would it be hard to continue this to that?

just make the object follow the geometry mesh, like having the floor mesh with an up and down constraint together.
