I agree that your engine (which really needs a name by the way :P) is very different to Sumo. But most people are working on large projects that have taken them many many hours to get this far, and I'm sure they'd rather stick with Sumo then trash what they've already done so far and move to a diffe...

Normal maps in the Game Engine

Normal maps are images that store normals directly in the RGB values of an image. It's a popular method in 3d games and render software to achieve very realistic mapping of fake 3d reliefs. http://www.blender3d.org/cms/Normal_Maps.491.0.html Normal maps were implemented in Blender in version 2.36. ...

Wow this is amazing! It can do so much that Sumo can't!! But Sumo can also do so much that this can't. Sumo is so widely used that this engine MUST be compatible with it if its going to survive. I suggest You have a go at integrating this into Sumo, to make a Next Generation Sumo (NGS) engin...

I think it looks terrible. Sorry but blender.org was fine the way it was, the side menu approach was much better than these pull-down menus at the top - I can't find my way around. www.blender3d.com already had this new interface, so why does www.blender.org need it as well? I'm glad to see t...

No i'm afraid not. Can't you make do without the car being a rigid body? I wouldn't have thought it would make much difference when it comes to a shape such as a car.

Remaking the planes did nothing. Doing Shift+D to make a new copy of the top object then deleting the original allowed the game engine to run, but it crashed as soon as I pressed Esc to end the game, every time.

Strange Blender 2.33 crash problem...

I've been having a problem with my main game project running in 2.33. The trouble was that blender would crash as soon as I pressed 'P'. It doesn't do this in 2.25 and it doesn't do it in 2.33 with any other blend file. I eventually nailed down the cause, but I still can't explain it. Basically, ble...

Hi all. I just got 3 things to say. 1) I've been looking at the OpenGL settings for the game engine and I notice some stuff that would be really useful if it was python controlled. Stuff like mist type (linear, quadratic etc) reflectiveness of materials, and gamma correction. It shouldn't be too har...

Or I could just remove Blender's ability to load runtimes. :? Thats a nice idea alien-amp but it wont work because blender is backwards compatible. All someone would need to do is open the exe in 2.25 and save it as a blend file. :( We could create a seperate file format which only the blenderplaye...

In my opinion CS is the most feature-rich game engine out there, but gameblender offers the best compromise between features and production time. If we can get all the features of CS into blender while maintaining blenders ease of use, it'll be really REALLY great! :D Btw, what happened about Ton's ...

That sounds really great!! :) Trouble is that the enji engine is pretty useless for anything but very simple games, cos it doesn't have python support. Would it be possible to get enji to support python? That would be useful.

stop the game quittin when u press ESC in blender player

OK this is a suggestion for an improvement in the blender player thats already been discussed on elysiun at http://www.elysiun.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=6502 and although it would only be a small change i think it would be worth while basically a new option needs to be added to the Runtime Options m...
