FITC Amsterdam 2008

hi, I thought some people might like to know about 'Flash in the Can' that's taking place in Amsterdam in February. There are a number of Papervision 3D presentations and also a full day workshop on Papervision by the team behind it (not to mention all the other presentations and workshops!) http://...

thanks.
Am I right in saying that the N key functionality for hexidecimal values isn't available for the ramp shader colours?

file tabs

not sure if this has been suggested before. I think a tabbing system for having muliple files open at the same time would be good to have. Like the way it is done on Firefox perhaps; having it as an option. Currently if you have 2 files open at the same time, it occupies 4 window slots on the window...

my apologies. Is the username and password that the bug tracker requires the same as what this forum requires because I am unable to login.

The problem I have identified does not exisit in a Tuhopuu 3 build that I have by the way.

possible bug - proportional editing shortcut key

i'm working from a laptop with no middle mouse button so i'm using the shortcut key for selection/zoom and proportional editing. (i.e., Fn + '/' key for increase and Fn + ';' key for decrease) This works fine except the decrease shortcut does not work for proportional editing and so I can only make ...

bug relating to scenes and instance duplicates

i have a scene containing a half-head being modelled that has an instance duplicate mirrored along its symetry. when creating a new scene as a 'full copy' of a current scene that has an instance duplicate in it, this duplicate is no longer an instance duplicate in the newly created scene. (using 2.36)

just to clarify, I was suggesting that, aswell as having a shortcut key to get to each panel quickly, you could also have a shortcut key to toggle between different panels- just like the way ctrl + arrow key lets you race through different gui layouts without having to move your hand. with 'show hid...

GUI suggestion

I was looking at looking at XP's 'show hidden icons' button at the bottom right corner of the screen and thought maybe having something like this to address hidden buttons on some of blender's windows (eg. 3d Viewport ) might be an idea. borrowing another idea, maybe Blender's 'Panels' window could ...

I'm guessing my problems are related to the ATI fix; 1. selecting objects using 'B' key doesn't seem to be included in the fix; 2. the whole interface gradually slows down after 20 minutes or so (and I'm just playing with the default cube, adding textures to it) Sony Vaio PCG K115B (Celeron, Ati 128...

I experienced a slowdown in performance after 15 minutes or so. Also, when in edit mode I seem to be able to select other meshes with CTRL + RMB.

(great to see that this ATI issue is moving much closer to being resolved though)

thanks for the input. my question shows my ignorance of how blender works but I think a feature like this, if possible, could speed up work flow for applying a material across multiple meshes that you want to look unique.

Child objects of materials possible?

just wondering if it is possible to implement child objects of a material that inherits the settings of its parent but then you could make subtle adjustments to their material properties. I could see this being useful if you where creating a forest and you wanted to apply a slight random variation i...
