the 2 main things I ran into during the tutorial were joining the two halves of the gingerbread man after you duplicate and flip it. they don't join like in figure 16. mine looks like the middle gingerbread man also, I couldn't locate the lamps button to do things with the lighting. these 2 things ...

im fairly new to blender to and i'm having some troubles with my gingerbread man. The problem is many of the buttons that are in the pictures arent on my blender like the lamps button and some of the keyboard shortcuts don't work. It seems to me like a simple problem of not viewing the right toolba...

Vertex parenting...worked perfect, thank you!
My kids have commissioned me to make the gingerbread
man look/act like the one in Shrek2 so I am sure I will be back with more questions.

Thanks teachtech, I had already tried that but it did not seem to make a difference. I wondered if I needed to to do this before parent/childing the armatures to the body. I will have to play around and try that.

Gingerbread man - How to animate eyes/mouth/buttons

I am still learning Blender and have finished the Gingerbread man
but wanted to understand how to make the eyes,mouth & buttons
follow the body movements as he walks. I have tried joining them
but that does not seem to work. Any pointers would be appreciated.
