This is a 'known issue' with the way quad interpolation works, by splitting it into two triangles. I'm surprised this does work correct on your card, joeri. There's better ways to do quad interpolation, but efficient methods for it are very new. I don't expect OpenGL support for that anytime soon, a...

Now, the sky generator sounds very ambitious. It almost sounds like that it will mean that we can render outdoor scene like Shrek's with a click of a few buttons. Like I said, it is too ambitious for a one man crew. He proposes technology changes that are based on technology that are not in Blender...

Lessons were certainly learned from last year with strict requirements for all students (compiled the source before, mandatory weekly reports, being present at sunday meetings, ..). We picked the applications that we thought were most likely to succeed and that seemed most important to Blender. I th...

tron_thomas wrote:That's no problem. I can post my animation file. It animated fine in 2.41. It is slow in RC3.

I'm not sure if I should submit it as a bug in Bug Tracker or post it somewhere else.

What is the best approach for this?
Put it in the bug tracker.

WINE doesn't do any emulation, so it should be near native speed for rendering. What would be interesting to compare is the timing for command line rendering. This might be a graphics driver issue causing a slowdown on windows.

The key option was broken in cvs, and fixed today:

If there's a bug, report it in the bug tracker. There will be a much higher chance of it getting fixed than posting in the forums.

Most of the code, except for some separate modules, is in C, and you will have a very hard time trying to convince people to convert that to C++ (slower compile times, cross platform compiling troubles, larger executables, general dislike of the language, ..). A big part of the duplication comes fro...

I dont like the idea of documenting features that are only in CVS, and not in a release, of course that's not an issue if next release is before the end of the project. I disagree, it's important to release with all new features documented, and a nice goal to aim for. The only way to do that is to ...

It was used for debugging the dependency graph, drawing the dependencies in the oops space. The code in drawdeps.c is disabled now.

The merge patch is now in cvs (was committed a few days ago). So applying that patch is not needed, and it probably will not work anymore either.

I've seen some confusion about this before, I'll change the behaviour. Not for 2.41 (that's in freeze), but will go in 2.42.

It's not in the orange branch. The patch is in the tracker, still waiting for some feedback. You can ask the testing build makers to apply it of course.
