The new Blender architecture looks much more flexible. My suggestion generate a binding for the Java language so we can extend Blender with scripts made from Java classes. Modern Java VMs are very fast, almost as fast as native code in general. All major platforms have a JVM installed.

Re: Would anyone like logic nodes sort of like mat/tex nodes

http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Dev:Source/GameEngine/NodalLogic And it's about time. The old model was cute but didn't scale well to complex games. It lacked good modularity. You couldn't build your own controllers the way you can do it in other VR systems like VRML proto nodes and similar to wha...

Yes. Browse the 3D view window menus. "I find it much easier to find the desired view while editing, rather than moving the camera with the grab and rotate commands. " In some occasions it's better to navigate with the camera selected. For instance with Shift-F the camera operates like a airplane wi...

Re: Why is everyrhing so complicated?!

"For, clicker-di-click people blender is "complicated", but just keep in mind that moving the mouse your screen up and down will give you RSI, so remembering some hotkeys is better for you." Are you kidding? I'm constantly forgetting key combinations, but i could check the keycombo to weld vertices ...

Re: Texture brush

I think you can use the texture paint mode on any 3D object and it will be stored in whatever texture you are using. You also need to have uvs for the object. Once you have these two things active you can start painting your 3D object with brushes like paint, burn, clone stamp and other stuff. There...

Look into your Blend Help menu and click on Manual. Your net browser should show the manual main page. Then scroll down until you see a section named Textures. It's all there.

Re: Mass editing?

I believe so. In any case this is already possible by copying attributes from one object to others.

Re: new user questions

Doing the difference boolean operation created a lot of extra vertices. Boolean operations works better if you try to make vertices and edges coincident as much as possible, between the two objects you are going to apply the difference operation. Unfortunately, the difference boolean operation also...

Re: How to select many object at the same time

Have you checked the manual?
http://wiki.blender.org/index.php/Doc:Manual

Possible ways include hiding objects you don't want to select, move them to separate layers, area selection and others.

From another thread: Just to understand a bit of my pain on using Blender on a Mac these are the issues i have. 1- Scripts are placed inside Blender-2.48a/blender.app/Contents/MacOS/.blender/scripts . Problem is MacOSX doesn't show folders that start with a dot and that complicates things a lot for ...

I'm using Blender for a long time and sort of got used to its interface. But now that i have switched to a MacBook i can see some of the pain of using it on anything besides a PC, with a normal keyboard. The next gui improvements that were shown will address most of these problems. Just to understan...

Blender also follows the usual color convention for major axis. Red, green and blue is X, Y, Z.

Besides if you look at the small axis on the lower left corner the names of the axis are also visible. This should be an easy way to see what view you are looking at.

Game engine logic bricks observations and an OO proposition

I have been trying the game engine and i'm happy with it's capabilities, however i think that the logic bricks idea isn't very good the way it is right now. One problem i found is that it's very hard to create interface logic with it. Imagine that whenever you had to connect your LCD monitor to your...
