Also, when applying a bump map, the texture is all screwed up with the camera angle not pointed directly at it. For example, rendering a flat plane with a bump map results in a worthless render because the texture is "stretched" unless the view is straight at the plane; just try it with the default ...

EDIT: Figured it out, thanks. Hrm. I have a texturing book along side for reference, and in the bump mapping examples, the bump map gives it actual depth once rendered. In blender, as the guides specified and per your mentioning, I've tried the NOR buttons and their adjustments, but nothing special ...

I have both the blender 2.0 and 2.3 guides, and have been reading and experimenting, but I can't figure out bump mapping for the life of me. Does blender actually have mesh displacement, or does it merely show up like a regular shaded texture? None of the methods from the book work, nor has any twea...
