This is still the case. I am working on an importer for motion tracking software. In the format I have information about aperture, field of view (x and y), and focal length. Meanwhile Blender only has this mysterious 'lens' value. I don't really know enough about real camera lenses to do anything fa...

I've been doing some longish (~300 frames at ~2Min/frame) rendering lately and I haven't had this problem yet. A few versions back it happened to me all the time, but now it seems really reliable? One problem I have had is that you can't choose the order of render layers. This means that in some cas...

Do you mean something like this? http://kitsu.petesdomain.com/images/Blender/amb-light.jpg Blend It's a cute trick. This is just a regular lamp with no specular and a sphere of the correct radius. I don't know if you can scale the falloff non-uniformly like in your links though. This works okay for ...

I would think that the black in the texture brushes was coming from the gradient used in the texture. In the materials>texture window edit the textures color ramp and change the black key to your canvas color. Remember also that even if you have a key set to 100% transparent its color will still sho...

It's too cool and useful, now I spend all day using Blender instead of working  I haven't had any problems, besides wanting more features. Two things that would help me out (maybe others too?) are layer support and being able to paint image masks/alpha. By layer support I don't mean just that ...

Oh, the rounded division between windows! Yeah, no way to change it, but it looks nice  You can turn window headers on/off and move them to the top or bottom though. Yeah, subsurf modifier doesn't let you work on the generated verts, only on the control verts. In the upcoming release there is ...

Kriss: I think a lot of you ideas are sound. You've also picked out a lot of the rough spots that hopefully will be fixed in the 2.5 release :D Here are a couple of corrections though. rounded interface: If you pull down the top 'menu bar' you will find it is a window containing all of Blenders sett...

Because the 'object' is just a container for data. What you mean is that you have moved your mesh data to a location away from the center of its object. In the edit buttons there is a button 'center new' which will move the object center to the center of its data. For more info on Blender's data mod...

Oh, oh, me too! I want a full set of 2d vector objects in the image editor (lines, bezier curves, bezier filled shapes)! This would be great for rotoscoping video mattes! Oops, one other thing is needed - Layers  Now that we support multi layered images in Blender shouldn't there be a layer...

How are you setting the locations? If you are setting them using the 'n' properties panel you should know AFAIK those coords are the objects global location. Actually I don't know of any way to specify absolute coordinates in an objects local coordinate system? Maybe the Python Blender.Object.Object...

Yay, now I've been dragged into this stupid thread too :P It's funny to see how Blender lovers talk about it as it has the best UI and the best functionalities ever. Ever wonder why people who actually know how to use Blender always say that? oktodindon: actually I learned enough to use Blender fair...
