If that doesn't work it suggests you have a non-manifold mesh, so it can't work out which side should be 'outside'. This can be caused by duplicate geometry (hit W -> Remove Doubles in Edit Mode to fix) or by other places where a single edge shares three faces.

I'm guessing you probably want turntable mode. Drag down the top bar to get the user preferences and then under 'views & controls', press 'turntable' instead of 'trackball'.

I'd suggest you may have duplicate geometry, with two faces in the same place, and the flickering may be the resulting z-fighting. To fix, hit W->Remove Doubles while in Edit Mode, and also check that you don't have the object duplicated while in Object Mode.

Difficult to say from just that - have you tried running it from the command prompt? It may give more informative output. Start -> Run -> type "cmd" -> OK -> type "C:\Blender\blender.exe" -> <Enter>. If it gives no further info, I would recommend updating your graphics driver and/or posting your sys...

Yes - go to the Modifiers tab under the Editing buttons, and hit the Apply button on the Subsurf modifier. This makes the subdivisions part of the mesh itself and removes the modifier. Export and import!

I believe that the builds from the Apricot project can use more than 16 materials - they can be downloaded at graphicall.org. Of course, remember that they are pre-release builds so approach with caution!

Can I suggest that if there were 'tutorials to do this kind of work', it would have been done already? I suggest a little more actually thinking about your project.

First of all - just to check, are you definitely in Edit Mode? Another possibility is that you have the 'Limit selection to visible' option enabled. It can be found on the menu of the 3D window, to the right of the vertex/line/face select mode buttons. That's all that occurs to me immediately. Be wa...

Problem compiling in Eclipse with Cygwin - makesdna

Hi all, I decided I'd attempt to compile Blender in Eclipse, using Cygwin. Previously I've always built it in MVC++ EE but I'm more used to Eclipse and having attempted to compile it there a long time ago and failing I decided it was time to retry it. I've got past a couple of barriers (such as havi...

LazyCoder - don't worry, you're not entirely alone in peculiar noises happening! When I drag nodes around, I get a hissing noise coming through the speakers... I think computers just like to keep you amused really!
