Blender 2.42a + Border Selection + Animation

Can anyone confirm that when rendering an animation the border setting is ignored after the first animation frame is rendered?

Spinbetween (Prototype Tool)

I am working on a spinbetween tool where the spin starts as one shape and ends as another. I'm having some trouble pinning down a good interpolation algorithm. The best results are with "linear" and "square" interpolation but neither gives the results I'm looking for. I've added a tweak to the inter...

I usually consider myself a pretty bright guy, but I don't see where this does anything in the viewports. I can't see where anything is being culled.

Distance between near and far is less than 100 blender units. Issue was that the starting clip value was 0.00 (end was 100). After changing the start to 0.01 all works as it should. I'd make a case for calling it a bug but with the render re-write perhaps the 0.00 starting value is no longer an issu...

How close is too close (Faces)?

Here's an issue I've found (v 2.41) and want to run it past everyone. First is an upclose image: http://www.fourmadmen.com/blender/issue/001/near.jpg Now from a distance: http://www.fourmadmen.com/blender/issue/001/far.jpg Same mesh, different distance. The raised panels are all exactly 0.03 blender...

Excelent. Perhaps we'll see it in 2.42.

I've just started a clipboard script. I've got the copy menthod working so far. Essentially the way it will work is, the script will store the cut/copied data in memory if the selection is less than some (user configurable) threshold, otherwise it will store the information in a file.

Yes please! I just now discovered the undo terminates my script. If it could not do that, that would be grand.

The ESC key solution is easy... Don't use the ESC key for exit. For GUI scripts just have an Exit button and use an alternate exit key like Q.

Spacehandler feature

Right now the calling of a spacehandler script works like this: 1) User performs some action in a 3D View 2) Spacehandler runs 3) If event is not "eaten" by the script Blender process the event. It would be nice if it was augmented to work like this: 1) User performs some action in a 3D View 2) Spac...

Other features up for consideration are: - Showing which layer is Active. - Merging (i.e. Moving) the contents of multiple layers to a single layer. - Object search (and selection) by Visbile Layers or Active Layer. - Manipulation of Materials & Textures (for example turn on "Wire" for all objects i...

Here is where it is so far.

Next step is serializing the dictionary that is used to store the information. After that I'll be adding Layer Groups.

Taking suggestions for Layer script

I'm planning on writing a Layer script and would like input on what people think would be useful to them. Basically just gathering requirements at the moment but I do envision persisting this information in a seperate file so the settings can be re-used. Random thought: This is outside of the specif...

Some ideas for using key modifiers for common operations

Nothing set in stone just a list I've been meaning to make for some time now for people to think about. Mostly in order of "high to low" in terms of which I'd use the most. Here goes... 1) Shift+Vertex Group Selection = Selected the verts in that group (Additive). 2) Ctrl+Vertex Group Selection = De...

First let me say that I love Blender and have been using it for years and really appreciate all the hard work that has gone into it over the years. However... If it did show the autosmooth that would be great but until then I can't really think of any good reason for the change. I still plan on tryi...
