Hello ! I'm also interested to participate in this project. I've already done some documentation (the quickstart guide) and video tutorials in the past. I also give blender courses at my university. I think that the subjects i could explain the better are - the mesh modelling tools - the node system...

noticications like "removed 328 verticies" or "stone_wall.mtl not found" work best as popups It doesn't work well as a popup at all! I can't stand stuff like that popping up and getting in my way. Joeri is totally right, we need a proper log window and error/warning message handling system (especia...

if you want to code all that then no problem, but be carefull to not see things too big, It will be a lot of work to integrate a forum + blogs + cms + wiki + job system, especially as you seem to be the only true php coder here. We have a 30 july deadline, and that means that the website must be ful...

another important point that has not been discussed is the integrations with the current websites. I especially think of the bugtracker and wiki documentation. Users tend to report bug in the forums and the developpers won't read it, so we should maybe make a bugreport section pointing to gforge. Sh...

More ideas about website architecture : Home page : host news. Different categories of news are displayed, those categories are chosen by the user. the time consuming task is to find a design that pleases everyone and translate it into a valid css template for the cms ^^ (i'll need help for this one) I like the graphical approach better because it takes us closer to the solution and so makes more important problems more obvious. talking about t...

i'll do different versions, it's true that it looks a little too dark on my crt screen.

I don't think that darkness itself will scare people, look at cgtalk, it's a lot darker.

I tried to make the website look like an expensive device, maybe it looks too elitist ?

-efbie- : It's no use getting all speedy now and let it bleed to death later. It will happen. But it should be Information driven, not technology driven. Don't talk about php/java/cms/hosting/bandwith untill there is a document stateting what the purpose should be, what the goals are, and how we th...

Lots of talk, and little getting done. It is clear that there's interest in a pro blender forum : A friend who works in the game industry saw this thread and mailed me right ahead that we could use our server to host such a forum. Not only hosting, but having such a forum as the main activity of our...

That whole blenderpro forum is something much needed, I agree a lot with what i've read in this thread, minus that whole contest idea ^^ I'm for a paid access for a restricted part of the forum. That would solve some issues, and for the rest, really strict moderation. For the target users of this fo...
