I also tested it, and my textures did not work either.
I so wish blender would have proper 3ds support for import / export.

UOM Ruler

One thing I require with a sore heart is a ruler.
Where one opengl unit = 1 meter

For the use of working with scale objects.
A Measurement tool would also be nice.

Thanks guys and girls.

Thanks dude. I will do this manually in meen time. I basically use blender not for final production, but as a modeling tool to export. Using my own renderer that does some fancy footing for optimization in real time rendering. For this the lowest possible poly count is always a bonus. But for now I ...

I know about the decimator. However for this you have to indicate the target poly count. You will also loose detail. What I am talking about will try to optimize intelligently to the lowest poly count practical with out loosing detail. If I may make such a request, I think such a tool would be well ...

Mesh poly intelligent optimization

Is there a script that can optimize a mesh poly count. If you take a quad and you sub devide it a few times and you run this script you should end up with a quad again. This script should try to reduce polycount to absolute min with out loosing detail on the model. Spesifically looking at something ...

ok, your comment about the clear rotation gave me a idea. So this time I did not scale the plane and just subdevided it. And it works perfect. So thanks very much for that. Before I added the plan, scaled it, subdevided it ...... Did not think that the scaling would make a difference. However the pr...

V2.35, noise terrain generation??

According to the user guide, to create terrain you could do the following. 1) Add Plane and subdevide (5 or so times) 2) Add material with greay scale texture (can use clouds) 3) Go to editmode and select all vertices 4) Click on noise button a few times this does not work. the displacement of the v...

Thanks for the reply. I am well aware of pyton and have written the odd script for blender. Problem is that pyton is perhaps one of your slower API. Thus exporting large mesh scenes with all required material detail is a timely excersize. A plugin system would be much much faster however I do also u...

Bug Scripts Screen + Import Export Request.

Running the texture bake script from the scripts screen, crashes blender. Loading the same script from the text editor and running it from there, everything runs fine. I know there is a import script for blender. However this does not import the UV data, nor texture data nor material data. This woul...
