Not really a bug, but a build problem (?). When I run the compiled RC1 or RC2a from download.blender.org I always get the message below. When I compiled the cvs snapshot of last Saturday (24-06) myself, I didn't get this message. This happens both on Suse 10.1 32bit and Suse 10.1 64bit. Looking for ...

Yes, after a reboot blender now links ok (still some of does warnings but they seem indeed harmless).

Very strange, I have no idea why linking stopped before the recompile.

Anyway, I'm happy now :-)

I'm also having this kind of issues when trying to compile on Suse 10.1 64bit. I have modified or added the BF_xxx_LIBPATH variables in linux2-config.py (I just now read that I am supposed to copy this to a userconfig...). When I run scons --help I can see that scons uses these vars indeed, for exam...

blende cvs link error

I downloaded the cvs snapshot of June 10th. Compilation is ok, but during linking the errors (template code) below. Seems to be in fluid sim part. This is on Suse linux 10.1, gcc 4.1.0. /home/dobbe/generated/app/blender/bf-blender/build/linux2/lib/libbf_elbeem.a(ntl_geometrymodel.o): In function `nt...

If it is of any help I could give a hand with one or two sessions. I live in Amersfoort so if your place is not too far away, I could pick up the tape(s). I can however capture only digital video, not VHS, so that would need to be recorded back on digital tape or DVD.

I.m.h.o. it's better to have a few videos with good sound quality than a lot that are hardly understandable. So plugging into the P.A. system sounds a vrey good idea.

Suggestions:

renderman

One thing to remember: if you compile with gcc on a 64 bit platform, gcc generates sse(2) instructions by default. On a 32 bits platform you have to enable this manually (and yafray build doesn't). So to make a comparison that's more fair, you should recompile yafray on windows with sse enabled. But...

Update on the previous post: if I recalculate normals outside, remove doubles and subdivide all sides of the beveled cube twice, then union and intersection work ok, but difference still gives a wrong result in my opinion. Moreover: if the objects do not meet the requirements for the boolean operati...

I tried the debug windows version with the .blend file that I submitted with bug report 1860 (boolean tool crashes blender). If use the unmodified mesh as indicated in the bug report, blender still crashes. If I remove the doubles and subdive the top face of the beveled cube a bit as Ton suggested, ...
