I'm not going to answer you. There IS evidence, it's called "Sexual Addiction" and you can find books on it everywhere. joeedh Thats a clever way to 'opt out' of the argument and still maintain (from your point of view at least) an illusion of high moral ground. Its also kind of strange how you cla...

Hm. I guess I'm thinking of porno--which has been proven to be sickening , harmful and utterly destructive. I'm sorry, I have to regard this as a joke....proven by whom exactly? The bible bashers of middle america? 1) show me this proof that you speak of -- From a scientific viewpoint please, not f...

The moment I saw the title of the post, I knew Philo was in for a verbal bashing. I'm glad this hasn't yet decended in a shouting match.... Too bad he used the word 'erotic'. This really is a red flag to those who have trouble with sexuality. Has he just used 'nude', this would probably have gone b...

You know, it's not so much the nude part that bothers people as the erotic part. You mean that bothers you. You have no right to speak for other people. The man just posted a link fully describing what was there. If it is against your convictions why did you click the link to this thread and possib...

Nice work from a technical standpoint, and I certainly have nothing against erotic art, but what bugs me is the fact that these pictures appear to be showing girls that are about 12years old. Well, I do have a problem with this kind of thing. I know the moderators are probably still at the Blender ...

You know, it's not so much the nude part that bothers people as the erotic part. So please, discuss this somewhere else.

Strange, I can load PIL just fine. Wierd. . .

Backwards file compatibility would be the most difficult part design-wise Maybe should we break it for Blender NextGen. I don't think that would be a good idea. . . The main reason IMHO that coding Blender in C++ has always been rejected is because, quite simply, it wouldn't be Blender anymore. I b...

Uhh. . .your all talking about the 3D window, right? Because hardware acceleration has nothing at all to do with the renderer. The Blender (along with most free CG scanline or raytrace renderers) internal renderer is 100% software, to my knolwedge it doesn't support any of those fancy CG hardware ra...

Hi. I just wanted to say that I've gotten really good results by combining a fine bumpmap with the same texture also affecting *slightly* either the color or the emission of the material. Of course, getting a perfectly smooth spectacular highlight is difficult, but then again, for many things you do...

joeedh and others should have a look at the part of the discussion on blender3.0, at least the bit where I wasn't involved.... They managed there to wear me down to thinking that going c++ was impossible in my lifetime... Basically at this stage, no-one wants to do it, and you are unlikely to get o...

wasn't one of the changes proposed for blender 3 to be c++? I think it would be a major challenge to port the current blender tree entirely to c++, sure you could just rename the files and get things to work as they should [and hopefully change the code so there aren't as many warnings], but you'd ...

Interesting to hear, though, that you think it's easy and makes sense -- I often hear it's terribly flawed, but can't really say (have only sometimes read it, never written really). ~Toni Take the time to learn it. Many people are more comfortable with C, but C++ is very, very much worth the troubl...

Well, look at the effects code as. . .uh, whoever said that said. Adding a new Object type is both complex and annoying, and while I'm currently trying to write a C++ wrapper for objects to make this easier, it'll probably be a few weeks before I actually have that working. It is possible to simulat...

Blender C++, but same basic design as Blender C?

I was just thinking. . . Isn't it possible to rewrite Blender in C++ but keeping the same basic design? I mean, parts of Blender are already object-oriented (the Library stuff would be particularily easy to rewrite IMHO, at least compared to other things). In fact, Blender is fairly object-oriented,...
