Well, more vid cards suppot OpenGL 1.1 rather than the extremely-new OpenGL 2.0. I believe Blender is based on 1.1 or 1.2. Making Blender 2.0 at this time would either a)for users to stop using Blender and/or search for an app that is supported by their video cards, b) force users to buy another vid...

But you can use Blender without a video card (via software OpenGL) and a computer does work well without one.

Most of the current high end cards, maybe. But not everyone has GeforceFX 5XXX or ATI 9XXX.

That is nice, but considering the fact that most Blender users' computers only support OpenGL 1.1, this is useless (at least for now, or until we all get those OpenGL 2.0 compatible ATI cards :P )

I don't think the video card has anything to do with this. It's about colors, and processing/display of the colors by Blender's renderer.

All this stuff looks great. This should definitely be in Blender 2.30
I should check the BF-Funboard more often!

(Also, MonkeyBoi, try using PNG instead of JPEG next time [just to make images a bit smaller, since they don't have much color]).

/me starts waiting for 2.30....

Pablosbrain: i haven't noticed slowdowns in my crappy 500mhz PoS (Piece of Shiznit) computer. Timothy: but when Blender is getting bigger and bigger in filesize, using UPX is a good idea for keeping it compact. Maybe this sounded like a bad idea for most of you, so i'll just keep using UPX myself. T...

Blender + UPX (for Windows version)

Hello, maybe this isn't the right forum section, or the right forum at all, but yesterday i did some testing with UPX (Ultimate Packer for eXecutables) to see if it could reduce the size of Blender program files. So, here are the results: http://omarmodesto.tripod.com/blenderupx.txt It might be a go...

Does this mean that 3ds max 6 will have the Sonic logo? :P BTW, i agree on the advertising. Maybe making some Blender banners so users can put it on their websites? (something like "all images on this site made with Blender") And also, livening up the Blender forums others than this one and elysiun ...
