Download 2.28. It solved the slow menu loading for me on my 500mhz ultra-hyper-super-duper-slow machine with a vid card that doesn't even accelerate OpenGL properly with newer drivers. On 2.28 the menus load instantly (at least on XP)

I've found another links for cloth simulation. Any chance of getting this one into Blender? http://www.freecloth.enigmati.ca/overview.html I hope i'm not getting annoying with this :P Programming cloth simulation from scratch might be a pain in the lower rear part of the body, so i'm suggesting link...

Another addiction to my wishlist. I don't want Blender to be limited to people with 2Ghz and GFX/ATI cards only :P

Remember there are poor people in this community

But what causes that? It's not the text. And no huge dinosauric features have been added to make Blender slower :P

Ok, i erased the bfont.ttf file to see if that solved the problem. But that didn't work. What really happens when i start Blender is this: 1)I double click on Blender.exe (that's the hard part :P ) 2)the DOS window appears 3)the Blender main window appears, stays blank (grey, actually) for 5 seconds...

It's also quite likely that initialising the anti-aliased text/interface translations takes a little while too. Me? I couldn't care less - Blender starts in 2 seconds instead of 1 ;) Hmmm....well....how do i disable the text antialiasing? There has to be an option for disabling it somewhere to spee...

Well, I'm on a 466 Mhz, and I sure have noticed the slowness of the "Blender-boot" - however, there's no problem running it once it's chugging along of course. So, there's no point in not using it... Hell, you should sit next to me whenever I start up Photoshop... [click on PS-shortcut]-[go down to...

Hope your get a new computer soon, or you'll miss out on some of the newer features. WHAT?! Hey! :P It's really weird that Blender takes longer to load, since no major features (like new renderer, or stuff like that) has been added. People that use Blender on processors with speeds lower than 500mh...

hmm. All of the versions 2.27, 2.26, 2.23, and Tuh all startup on my machine in less than a second. Well, people on very fast processors wouldn't know the difference. For now i'll stay with 2.23 until something is done [and by this i mean: a) i buy a new computer or b)optimizations are done to the ...

I agree with this. It would be great to see all of the important Texture/Sequence plugins integrated with Blender.

Great!! I was getting tired of the old tuhopuu build i was testing :D I'm wondering...are Blender developers NOT doing code cleanups and optimizations? I've noticed that 2.27 starts in 5 seconds, while 2.23 starts in less than a second on my crappy old computer, and Blender's executable size has gro...

And hey, while you're in there, why not make an option and button for randomizing rotation and scaling of dupliverts? Thanks again! This is something that i've wanted for ages. But if that feature is added, it should have an option for limiting the scaling. Otherwise some dupliverts will be HUGE an...
