mocap,
I posted here about this too. I have the official 2.62.0 and if I use cycles render, there still is no option to select 'GPU'. There is only 'supported' or 'experimantal', but not 'GPU' or even 'CPU'. So I am assuming that it's using the CPU by default anyway.

Try rendering the animation but be sure to have the animation render set to a correct format (H264 or similar) and this will create a file such as an .AVI which you then can play on an external video player. Also check that the path for the file you will create is set to a location where you want th...

Have you considered parenting all parts to an empty? Otherwise you may have to use an armature system.

Bug in version 2.62.0 with array modifiers follow curve?

Just wondering if there is a bug in Blender Whenever I use an array modifier using "fit to curve" as length and use a curve modifier to follow a curve or path, the objects get deformed at various places along the path. For example, a simple UV or Icosphere, unchanged (i.e. NO editing, scaling, trans...

Whenever you click on "Open" (or any other file menu item that brings up the browser) If you see the blender icon at the top of the blender window, look below on the second menu bar and slightly to the right. There are several icons there, and one of the choices is "show images". The default is to s...

If you see the blender icon at the top of the blender window, look below on the second menu bar and slightly to the right. There are several icons there, and one of the choices is "show folders". The default is to show folders, but maybe you clicked it off by accident so see if that is the problem.

Are you saying that the blender internal file browser doesn't show your new image files? Have you checked that the path is correct and also that you have save the images where you want them to be?

It looks like they are using shape keys and also changing the camera view a bit. Look for tutorials on those things.

Could be camera clipping distance, or lamp(s) lighting distance issue. Check both of those in their respective properties panels. Also, do you have things on separate layers? If so you have to specify to render all layers, or move all to one layer.

Cycles Rendering - "Device" option is not there

When I select "Cycles Render" the render panel does change, and also the materials panel etc. But when I click the render (camera icon) I don't have an option to select the render device (CPU or GPU). There are two options, "Display" 'and "Feature Set". The "Feature Set" has two options - "Supported...

In the render panel, look down for "integrator" and expand it. There you will find sample numbers for both render and preview images. Increase to a reasonable number for preview.

UV unwrapping and mapping

I am still learning, but I can unwrap OK (seams etc.) and I can load an image in the UV editor, I can select faces and scale and rotate to position the texture image and see the changes live in the 3D edit view. BUT...it seems if I do something in the 3D view (can't say if it's the edit or object mo...

Rendering movies with transparent background

I know that I can render still images with any of the output formats that support RGBA (PNG, TIFF, TARGA, etc.) and I know that I can render a movie as a series of still images. However, I don't know how to play them on an external player as a movie. I would prefer to render in a movie format to beg...

That was easy!

Thanks for the information. I have not seen that anywhere about right-clicking on a material. Can I also morph textures in some way? What about morphing between two different materials on one object? I don't want to seem stupid, but I have searched and searched and watched all the video tutorials I ...
