Why not animate z-transparency

I must be missing something since I can't understand why z-transparency cannot be animated (i.e., connected to an IPO). What is it?

ElBarto, I can get none of the cameras (out of 3) to line up in when exporting to VRML. I've tried deleting them, renaimg them, locating them on different sides of the default plane. I couldn't find any info on this in your usage document. I can send the blend if needed, but thought you might know t...

Please post your render times so we can compare.
Non-optimized: 3:38.79
Optimized: 2.38.14

Big improvement, and I doubled checked the times.

Has anything happened on this of late? I use vrml quite a bit and would be interested in further developments here. From the thread, though, there appears to be some issues with compatible players.

2.40 wave feature questions

Bravo, to whoever did the wave feature in 2.40! That should come in handy.
  • Is there any way to get the wave to modulate the texture of an object?
Can I get the outside of a cylinder to have waves all around it (and not just on the ends like it is now)?

wave animation object color

I know this is developer's forum, but elysiun site didn't seem much help. I want to animate an object so that its colors change in waves down it's length (for example, how electricty flowing in a wire might be animated). The object has high polygon count, so using IPO's seems like a TON of work. I'v...

WOW, dowloaded the alpha 1 SSE optimized version you did mchs3d, got a 20 percent decrease in render time :P That's in comparison to alpha2 version Many thx for the tip. Umm, I assume I copy the exe to the blender folder to use it, correct? Cuz that's what I did and everything seemed ok. I compared ...

1. When rendering image as large as screen size or larger, the window is outside the bounds of the screen and is difficult, if not impossible, to grab. The alpha 2 release did not work this way. 2. Something "funky" about solid view. For one thing, it almost looks like shaded view. Also, the auto sm...

So if the hyperthreading is enabled/disabled through bios, what does the "use threads" switch in blender do? I tested the HT option on a 50 second render and found it decreased to 47 seconds, a 6% decrease in render time. The test Bullx did (with 28% decrease in render time) is not an accurate bench...

Negative on recalculate outside, same problem.

Um, CVS build...? I'm using 2.40 alpha 2 installed on win XP pro, so I think so!

I take it then, that this is already reported?
