Most likely you run out of memory yes. If you have high subsurf levels, then you can easily fill your memory. The console window should say something like 'malloc: nil' and some large number.

@Elex: The project is currently on hold, but I managed to have a subset of the data saveable and loadable from a MySQL database. IMO the way to go for this is to use the normal 'name' variable of ID blocks to store UUIDs in, and to have a custom property for the name the user will use/manipulate. Yo...

If you installed from the .zip, then just remove the directory containing Blender.

We don't use registry keys (apart from file extension association), nor do we sprinkle files around your system. So deleting the installation directory manually is all you need to do.

Check how YoFrankie does this. You can use the game actuator to achieve this.

AFAIK you can just install the 'AMD' 64bit Python version, since your intel chip is not an Itanium.

I've worked on and off on dbBlender, which is Blender with a database as datastorage backend, with the intention to allow for asset management.

Unfortunately, I haven't had much time to really bring it forward :/

Nope, still no good... It runs, I get the cmd window pop up telling me python was found just as it does if I don't set XP compatability, yet the blender editor window just freezes, no panels get loaded, no menu, nothing, just a grey window with the title... Any ideas anyone? The freezing of the win...

Yes. The installer doesn't give any real added benefits other than that the .blend extensions gets registered. The zip is a fully functional Blender release.

You can set your window manager to use the Super key (windows logo) to act instead of the alt-key for your window manager.

Sorry, didn't mean to agitate you :) I was just wondering what the reason was to rebuild - and you have one :) Anyway, you could always get the free microsoft compiler. I currently can't say when the FFMPEG compile problems for mingw are going to be solved. See http://www.microsoft.com/express/downl...

Exactly the FFMPEG is missing from your own build - this is a big part of our release. If you don't need FFMPEG for your work (input/output codecs) then you shouldn't have to worry. Other than that, what is wrong with using the official binaries?

RC's are not tagged, just the revision number on our mailing list that has been yelled to be the RC. Official releases then will be tagged when the time is right. But essentially, RC3 is trunk + the commits that have been done since RC3 release.
