first of all, thanks for the encouraging words. >The box-on-sphere test slowed to a crawl if you make the bounds 'sphere' it should fly. the sphere is tesselated, and I didn't add bounding volume tree support inside the mesh, so it brute force does way too much work. also the penetration depth calcu...

http://blendertestbuilds.kidb.de/index.php?dir=Windows/bf-blender/ErwinC/&file=blenderBullet2005july20_vc8.zip This one has no deactivation, which means objects stay active forever. This should stop the objects from deactivating too early. But in the future, tuning the deactivation settings will be ...

testbuild 2005july19: fix for random collision problem ?

"First the simulation runs smooth, monkey falls and lies down, but in the moment she shoud rest already she starts jumping, and in that moment gets framerate dramatically low." Isn't the monkey a he, instead of a she ? ;-) There is a hardcoded limit of 128 in the number of dynamic objects, I will re...

>what is bullet? http://www.continuousphysics.com/Bullet_Faq.pdf >could your work also be a part of ode in the future? You could add the discrete convex collision detection from Bullet in ODE without any problem. However to gain benefit from the continuous aspect (time of impact, avoid missing colli...

conversion bug

Thanks for the feedback, Malachy.
It seems there is a bug in the physics object conversion, which creeps in randomly. It must be some uninitialized data, which causes random physics and collision problems.

cheers,
Erwin

Those closed source packages are different from the freedom that open source gives us.

And I'm not planning to give up that freedom :)

Hence the plan to encourage collaboration with other open source graphics/game engines, and adding some better physics system to the existing.

alpha test

Hi Malachy, Today I stayed home (in London), so I had some quality blender codingtime. Hence, I have a special blender version for you today. It has box, cylinder and sphere support and runs your first scenes very nice. I will add triangle meshes and convex support in a few days, just a matter of ho...

new developers needed

Kester did a really good job keeping the game engine alive. Unfortunately I was too busy in Havok and Sony to do anything serious. However at the moment I got a bit of time, and 'm motivated to support a bit. Especially with Jorrit, Bandoler and a few others willing to support the Blender game side....

Blender gameengine plans

Hi, I hope projects like Girona, Ogre, Crystalblend, Nebula Blender Gameplayers will take off. I offer some assistance in transition from Ketsji. I posted my plans on bf-committers: "Ton asked me to outline plans of my new game engine contributions. I haven't spoken to Kester yet, so plans might sti...
