3D Scanner solutions for Blender?

Check this out ;) http://www.muellerr.ch/engineering/laserscanner/default.htm http://www.realviz.com/products/im/img/little_chateau.gif It would be cool to have some sort of imaging modelling solution built in to Blender, that allowed models to be created from photographs etc. Some quick links... ht...

If Blender is useful for level creation as well, then it must be the answer to my prays Blender can indeed be used for creating large game scenes ( I'm working on something to ...

Like everything else, some people love em and some people hate em :) It would be good if they were toggle-able. So I could turn them off. And definable ( ie you could define additional gestures, and map them to other features, eg draw a B, and bevel the selection etc ). So that people who use them, ...

Transforming objects in Blender / 3D gizmo

This Shockwave example shows how to intuitively move objects along 2 axis ( hold shift to move it up and down ) http://www.farbflash.de/director/samples/dreiD/constrDrag/index.html With the aid of a 3D gizmo, this would all be possible! The current method of moving objects ( where it requires a LOT ...

I think that the new interface rocks. BTW Rocks = it is a more visually appealing environment to work within ( better use of whitespace ), more intuitive ( better grouping of similar items ) etc. With a flexible enough interface, the default user should be presented with the new interface by default...

A degrees character would make reading that info a lot easier, especially if a number of different values ( angles, lengths of lines ) was to be displayed at the same time.

Very cool screenshots Vek,

It's great to see you pushing for the right tools for game dev-ing in Blender, and giving good constructive reasons as to why they are needed!

Hi, This is a known issue with Blender, see... http://wiki.blender.org/bin/view.pl/Requests/GameEngineFeatures Blender automatically assigns vertex colours when you enter face mode ( it assumes you are going to assign textures to the face, and is a throwback to when material colors only weren't supp...

There has been talk of this for a while, and the new codebase is being set up to easily allow a gizmo. If enough people show an interest in this, vs people who think it's a bad idea ( they can always toggle the option off though ), then I'm sure it'll become a priority for the 2.37 release. My vote ...
