that's what I thought. Those are 2 complete different systems. 1. blender/Maya system is IK calculated on every frame. 2. Animanium etc system: IK during editing/posing and baked as an IPO system during playback/rendering. Not quite. Both Mirai and Animanium use IK as a posing tool primarily and ke...

Nice way of looking at it. I didn't think of running windows on a mac! I will never, as long as I live, run windows on one of my macs. *shudders* As for the whole argument that OSX being popular would make it more susceptible to virii and malware, it's highly unlikley. Linux/BSD and other *nix vari...

You might also want to play with Art of Illusion , an open-source Java based 3D program. AoI's IK system is based on the Animanium ideas (although the implementation is classic recursive descent). It's open source, so you can see the code and get an idea of how it works. Animanium is just a rip off...

Simple solution for those all fired up. Turn around is fair play. Name Blender luxairyoxity on ebay and send then to blender.org for a free download. The only problem with this method is that he may have a legal right to the name Luxiorsity .inc and then whoever placed those auctions would be in vi...

So, come again, what did he steal? As I understand the license I can do with the software what ever I want as long as I release the code. So I can fork and rename it, maybe as Tapaha. I can sell Tapaha, and I don't need to tell who else made Tapaha. (Just as redhat does not have to state that mr Th...

Sigh, you take things to seriously theeth. Any post that does not lead to development is useless mostly. As anything goes more developers are needed still, but then again whatever, I don't think he takes things too seriously at all, considering the way you denegrate the efforts of blenders coders i...

ok. this might sound pompous, of ignorant.. or.. something, but I just have to ask, as I've been watching these examples for some time now, and all the people seem raving about it. what does this script do, that one extra fill light lamp wouldn't? I mean, in harkymans example here, it brought some ...

This is an open source project what the hell is a peer review? I am free to code what I want, I don't need your blessing.. I'm also free On the one hand you say this... I'm wondering when there will be a more formal and open design process.. Or if its just going to be incremental refactoring and fi...

Sheesh have you ever seen someone use blender for a high level game ever? What a piece of junk.. Anyone can replicate your attitude Martin, take a bowler from brooklyn.. And well give him a computer.. And a "I'm not going to take crap from nobody attitude". You seem to have a lot of free time to be...

Re: hmmm

First let me say thanks for replying in a civil tone, I know I have an 'abrasive' personality that puts some people off initially... I don't intend people to take that personally though. I have a BS degree in Computer Science. I have a brother who has a PHD and is working for one of the largest rese...

Re: hmmm

I';ve said it before and I'll say it again, the reason you guys don't have enough coders is the codebase, its all in C. You can't very easily divide responsibility with a procedural-centric language., it can only be done with objects. You may have said it once before, you were wrong then and you ar...

I am downloading the FBX sdk now. It is very strange, because about 6 months ago I tried very hard to get Kaydara to give us acess to the FBX SDK and even got Ton to talk to them about it. Now anyone can get it for free. It's funny how things work out.

Cheers,

Why are we comparing features of Blender and XSI? XSI is clearly further ahead technologically than Blender. I don't think anyone would argue against that. However, if we are going to compare features, I would like to point out a couple of things. XSI can't hide vertices while modeling, which makes...

I didn't have the time to read through all these posts but I did manage to look at most the pictures and I thought they were all good looking but I would like to weigh in with my 2 cents. I really like the w-key menu. You don't have to move your mouse at all, you just press the number corresponding ...

Gendou, all the comments are apreciated. I am not looking for any comment in specific, but I only want that Blender users tell me what characteristics they want to see implemented in Muse. Zarf, I also think that Muse is a fine name :D . My 2cents about what I would like to see. Seamless integratio...
