I agree that selections shouldn't be mixed up... if you select two edges right now, you get the face... NO! I just want the two edges, or else i would have selected the face... makes sense no?

Hum, the light masters could explain this better than me... but I'll try to make it simple: Global Illumination is a mixture of algorithms that take into account the tranfers of energy according to physical laws of color absorption/rediffusion/reflection/refraction/diffraction/refraction>>thus ray c...

???? ah yes, I understand where you didn't understand... and a fake GI setup isn't sooooo hard as wavk and joeri said. syntax problem. should read: "and as wavk and joeri said, AO should do the trick and a fake GI setup indeed isn't so hard to setup" And, I didn't say that AO is not "fake GI", I sai...

erm... and everything is energy!!!! ;) Seriously of course, exposure time is linked to aperture size which is liked to DOF, but having or not focus blur and motion blur on a same picture is more related to the dynamism of the scene than to technical considerations... you can have an infinite DOF (no...

Hi! Monkeyboi: thanks for your comments! 1, switching selections from vert mode to face mode (for example) is easy - just switch to the mode you want and the appropriate elements are selected. Would not be possible or complicated with the proposed workflow. This can be conserved from the current imp...

I agree that the implementation of the UI of this new tool is far from optimal. There are two main problems: Switching from one mode to the other is slow workflowise. Selections (if you hold shift and click on the three verts/edge/faces selection type buttons) mess up... I have suggested one simple ...

haha! every device that captures light (from the eye to the most modern camera) creates motion blur, and erm camera blur is no different from motion blur, only it's that the camera is in motion... It's all about the time that a light source (think of it as reflective stuff too, not only lamps but al...

hum... creasing two parallel edges of a face (in a cube) in edge select mode doesn't work on the only selected edges but on the four edges of the face... there are some drawing problems, like contour drawing that do not show all the time... the solid drawing overlaps the contour. and still the same ...

no, it doesn't solve everything... Add a plane and subdivide it. activate all three modes at a time. select a row of EDGES... then select the next row of EDGES... you'll notice that the edges that link from row a to row b (the H's horizontal bar) are selected too... and when you try to unselect one ...

oh allright ;) I guess the "Shift+R and friends selection doesn't work in zbuff mode" problem is a known one too... what else? I found display glitches from place to place... ie. when, in edit mode, you do an "Edge: Delete" in the F9 panel the seam is still draw until you "tabtab". Creases seem to b...

When I select four edges around one face, blender selects the face... same thing if I select four vertices... ie. if I extrude i'll extrude the face and not the (edges/verts) This is not how I expect it to behave... if a select four edges and extrude them, I expect it to extrude the edges, not the f...

i thought i had posted something about the entry method, and i'd go for a helper, not everybody is confortable with vectors.

It could be some helper drawn in 3D View ala Particles Force Fields...

No?

Thanks!
