On another note you can also change the units used for location, rotation and dimensions. In the properties window click on the Scene tab (it's between the Render and World tabs) and go down to units. By default Blender uses Blender Units which are 1BU = 1 meter. You can change the units to metric (...

The thing is that the object mode view doesn't really have any light at all. What it does is changes the hue of the faces in relation to the view for the sole purpose of allowing you to see the separate faces even if they are the same color. You can't replicate no light with lights.

Uhm... I don't see anything wrong. As a matter of fact I don't see anything. Maybe it's just me but I think you left out the link to your example.

Actually the most common functions are already on the main interface in the toolshelf. The toolshelf is also context sensitive so the tools that show up are only tools relevant to the task you are in. In using Maya I actually never used the hotbox but rather made a custom toolshelf of the tools that...

One thing that I noticed when looking at your file was that you had your diffuse type set to toon which would make it look a little odd since toon shaders have hard edges to make it look like painted cells. Another thing was your normals. When you used the boolean to etch in the letters it seems tha...

First thing I would suggest is figuring out which tex is causing the problem. Disable each of them and see which ones have the problem and which ones don't. If you made your normal map properly it probably isn't that one though from the looks of the photo it seems that the diffuse is the culprit. Tr...

Okay, the problem is that there is no way to tell you what you're doing wrong if you don't tell us what you're doing in the first place. What are your material settings to create the glass. What are the world setting and how are you rendering; Blender Internal, Cycles, etc. https://picasaweb.google....

Thanks. I still think that there should be a discreet delete button for this kind of thing though.

Can't even say that I'm entirely sure what that is all about but after watching a bit on youtube it looks a lot like parenting to me. At any rate the following functions can be used to make parents or join objects. ctrl + p in object mode. When you pick multiple objects remember that the last one yo...

Permanently delete images from blender

Is there a way to permanently get rid of an image that has been loaded into blender? After a while it gets a little cluttered when you open up the image list and there are a dozen different entires in there that I can't seem to make go away even when looking at the data blocks. Is there something in...

In the nightly build there is another script for importing .mxh files that is slightly different than the one that comes with blender already. It is located in the install path for makehuman so you should use that one rather than the one that comes with blender. You may also be mousing away from an ...

I noticed in the video that when you went to directly properties to move the bones that the manipulator was the grab manipulator and not the rotate manipulator though you were probably using the rotate hotkey to perform translations. Try using the manipulator tool to make the translations rather tha...

Suggested Feature: Snap to curve

Blender currently has the ability to snap to edges, faces and vertices. It would be nice however for it to also be able to snap to a bezier or nurbs curve. The function is already common in applications such as Maya and offers access to spline cage modeling of more complex organic shapes. For exampl...
