Drivers? OGL? Other strangeness?

There's a long-standing, reported, work-stopping bug with apparently ALL 2.0 +versions of Blender on Windows(?) machines with Intel graphics chips such as 814, 82845. Those of us with those cards are getting rather frazzled. It blows up. Seems to be any version of Windows, but definitely on W2...

I agree - the tree view like in Vue is fantastic, both for organizing, hiding, and selecting. But how to implement even the interface, regardless of under the covers... The suggestion to click on the square, and have a drop down menu makes the most sense to me. One more suggestion: use an entirely d...

differentiate In and Out Normals

Working on the F1 contest and one of the things I found tricky was getting the Normal direction right. Finally got them fixed, but then it hit me today, because I had revisit the topic, a nice easy solution to tell what is pointed which way... CHANGE THE COLOURS! Normals pointing inside could be dar...

MacBlender - excellent suggestion for a Snap To Vertex. I've used that before elsewhere and it REALLY speeds up modelling.
Yes, the existing snap commands will do that, but not as fast. And Fast is Good!

Making the fonts smaller for those not using magnifying glass resolution would help too :-) My button label beef is that the text is automatically centred, and if the text doesn't fit in the button, the start AND end of the label is cut off. Text should be left justified if it gets clipped - but tha...

That's an idea, I suspect layers would be pretty hard to expand like that though. What *I* would like to see is a tree interface. I've used that in several other packages and I LOVE it. The 20 layers are better than nothing, but having a collapse-able, name-able tree setup is great. I've used it in ...

Doh! Forgot about the Knife script at

I've never had much luck getting scripts to work unfortunately.

This would be a great tool, but as mentioned, probably hard to do. Its similar to what is usually called a KNIFE in other packages. Its also quite similar to Boolean operations of course. Maybe a modified version of the "subdivide" command could be created? Ideally, if you stuck a plane through the ...

Sign me up for wanting face and edge select capability too! Some "example code" is obviously there already for the UV mapping. But whomever it was that mentioned (may have been another thread) that "slow" doesn't matter any more... Well, not all of us are using GHz class machines with good OpenGL su...

Using the z-order for a coloured depth cue would be a great help! (definitely greyed out when further away, not grey for closer edges) I've used something similar in Amapi and it really helps. As long as we're at it though... rather than just fading the colours out or changing them, automatic transp...
