Topic: Blender GUI is horrible

I like blender's GUI. I like how the buttons are small, since they save space. I like how 3 button support is emulated through the usage of the "command" key. I like how the GUI is written entirely with python and opengl so that it can be used on like 4 or 5 different systems and still look the same...

sorry, I think its just python. Though I think I've seen code every once in a while, when blender needed to access something specific in the system, where a pre-recorded command written in java/c++/etc. would be issued to the system through python... Though I'm not sure if that's actually what happe...

But, you would have to reattach the mesh to the bones. And why do that manually, when a script could do it instantly?
joeri wrote:Does max export bvh ?

Export all mesh as obj. Export motion as bvh. Rebuild the bones.

Why do would you want to?

Re: how to import 3dsmax animation file to blender

I guess you could use Collada, but all you would retain is the mesh (UVs included, I think + hope) and an armature it's linked to. As for keyed animations, I don't know of any import scripts to use. You would have to re-key everything. Sorry

That problem has been there for a while. Blender 2.5 should fix it (test builds don't have that problem). Unless your version of blender is actually 248.1, in which case, I've got nothing. ps, before this thread gets any longer, it's Apple's fault this is happening, with their Intel Integrated Chip ...

OSX: Out of the frying pan & into another stupid frying

Progression of Blender with Mac OS 10.5.6 & Stupid Intel Integrated Graphics Driver I downloaded one of the 2.5 builds of Blender, and was pleased to not see the horrible lag associated with Leopard's attempt to run blender on hardware the OS isn't built for (but is hard-wired into...). However, th...

Re: runtime objects

What, like dynamically creating vertices, edges, & faces? I guess that would be possible, but would require a lot of understanding of the python code associated with mesh objects. I think that's one of the core parts of the EA game, Spore, which dynamically creates, rigs, and UVs meshes based on geo...

Sigh... Never mind, I was wrong... While the previous bug still seems to be slowing standard builds down, this particular bug has not been occurring with 10.5.6. I would still ask that, if any version crashes, that those experiencing them utilize the automatic report system. As for the 2.5 release o...

Thanks for the reply kainstrein, So you have to manually animate the lips to go with what is being said? that would take forever, darn, i was really hoping blender would automatically do this, basically you make your visemes, specify what sound they are for and then imput your audio file, the softw...

ps. Still very much WIP, but drawing issues should become apparent if there are any.

About 20 times. Has anybody here actually reported this issue to Apple? Did they give any feedback? No, it was the auto-report thing. I went by the Apple store to see if the people at the genius bar knew how to help, but their responses were limited to buying a new computer, OS, of 3d modeler. They...
