I've been watching these threads on and off for a long while. Glad to know that my 'new' input device I was given on Christmas will be working in time for me to start back into university next semester and not have time to learn it. If your just looking to get used to the device. It works perfectly...

Sounds like your trying to write to a directory outside of the user's home directory. Ie /opt/blender /opt/blends etc. In that case, you'd have to run a simple sudo chmod 775 /opt/blender (or your particular dir) that way it would be writable by all the local users on the machine. Maybe this helps? ...

Well in that case, you could take a couple of circle curves, position them 90 deg off, the use the curve deform modifire on a couple of simple meshes. That way it would be fully functional as a round globe-like logo.

Not sure about using a circle, I'll have to wait till I get home to try it. :)

Do you want it to be fully 3d, something that can rotate? or just a simple 2d logo? I would think the old tutorials would still work as the curves have changed very little. I would start with a curve, extrude it around to the tip, and extrude back. When you get to the tip switch the point to vector ...

are you writing directly to your home directory or to a directory under it?

have you checked for the specifics in the console?

can you post any of the errors from the console?

Try (just for kicks) downloading the last released version of make human and try that.

They might be moding the file format slightly thats causing problems with the current import script.

Re: I can not use middle mouse button to rotate in 3D.

I am on mac using a logitech mouse and I just can not get it to work. I have set the mouse button to advanced click and made it button 3 but it does not work.
