do you mean we'd create shaders in an external dev tool and provide them as adjustable presets in the material 'editor' - sorry for the quotation marks :-) like the materials are now?

that would be a nice start, given an option to load more of them into it.

have you heard of OpenML ? maybe we should consider that too then, for the post production part of blender and in the end one considerate whole, that might be the way to implement video into the gameengine. Of course OpenML is still a way off, but we'd better be ahead of the game a bit. on a sidenot...

In short, it would be great to have a multiplatform "open source renderware" for rapid game idea prototyping or perhaps even production use. that would indeed be a nice prospect and i think an attainable one as well. It could be like Virtools and Gmax combined plus a super-duper renderer to top it ...

6.We need a simple bar along the bottom that displays what the left, middle, and right mouse button do in the current context. Dunno if we need relational feedback of the mouse, once you know what it does that would be screenclutter. we might offer an option for it though. But what i like in this q...

i mean can we create our own shaders/texture effects then through the opengl 2.0 shading language? Maybe we can create a realtime button 'block' (dunno the name) to acces that. or write a python wrapper, nah i'm just thinking loud here that last idea might not be feasible.

Can you lock the file when you release something? Do you need to provide the source code/blender file since it's gpl? I don't understand the licences piculiarities yet.

:D Great ! the topic made it into the root. dunno if you were playing with this idea already, and how the community looks forward too this, but i've also proposed this. so, i'm definitely looking forward to help with this one. But that will be more into the future, still learning C++ and python. Mea...

wauw, you really want to tackle the implementation of an opengl2.0 renderer? that would be great, i alreday was going to ask about that. But how close is 3d labs proposal to acceptance to the other opengl board representives? i also read that maybe blender should be completely written for opengl 2.0...

definitely a missing feature indeed. is this why the material in the buttonwindow is relative to the object selected. with such a new editor we could do it the other way around too i hope. or can we? ( i'm not using Blender for long )

Mesh editing in Blender [...] needs a major overhaul. It can be done efficiently, because nothing of the mesh editing is part of the file structure... Ah, that's nice to know. I'm not a programmer at all, but this means it wouldn't be to difficult for someone to implement true meshediting? There's ...

it's a bit silly to purchase documentation while the app itself is free is it? Of course documentation will come, in time. So I'l try to learn it with what is readily available now.
