Re: Two things (one bad, one good).

Go over to http://www.povray.org and grab the excellent Povray-Documentation. If you know and understand Povray you will completely understand the script. Thanks! The most difficult part (for me) of getting Povanim to work properly is setting up the materials correctly for POV to rend...

Then, in the script window, load the following script : ########### mport Blender from Blender import NMesh, Object Me=Object.GetSelected() me=NMesh.GetRaw(Me[0].data.name) for f in me.faces: for v in f.v: f.col[f.v.index(v)].r=v.no[0]*256 f.col[f.v.index(v)].g=v.no[1]*256 f.col[f.v.index(v)].b=v.n...

Re: Mesh creation in Python with 2.25

I'm trying to get started creating meshes in Blender 2.25 using Python. I have been successful creating NMeshes - but that seems to be deprocated. The example script for the Mesh module in the 2.25 python documentation dies trying to load the "tess" module as mandated by "../modules/utils/tesselati...

Thank you, jms :D your python doc`s are very clear and informative. dale Hi, thanks but it is not "my" doc, just an extraction of the free sources' original doc: ... blender\intern\python\modules/ done with happydoc. The blender.org's documentation doc is evidently better: http://www.blender.org/mo...

Re: .blend file spec?

Is there a .blend file spec document floating around any place? No, but there is a python script to read object and materials/textures in a blender file, an excelent work done by eeshlo for his lightflow exporter. Address is on the elysiun python forum. http://www.elYsiun.com/forum/viewtopic...

In b2.23, you shouldn't touch the NMesh module.
use b2.25, instead.

you kick ass indeed. instead of a renderman button, I think it would be a much better idea to have a drop down menu from which you could select the renderer. We could then have the export plugin as an external compiled file, when loading it, it would had a renderer to the list. What do you think? c...

I'd like to see Povanim intergrated into Blender as it's by far the best exporter-to-render there is, but it's only for windows. Sedgetone Hi, If it is my ( ) " povanim", this script is compatible with all nt and posix systems and you don't need python's extended libs just the blender's one....
