Nope... It's out now, as you've noticed! Happy birthday, great-grandpa!

I bet it'll be for my great grandfathers birthday. He's utterly dead, so he doesn't have birthdays at all anymore =)

Wohaa! Amazing stuff... I'm really happy to see some solid VirtuaLight support too. That's just incredible - my favourite renderer and all! This will make it to the official next release, yes? :D

Yup, that would be extremely helpful. I've got that special characters problem too. That reloading business is quite annoying, for sure...

You can use OBJIO, a python script that imports and exports the OBJ-format very well. Get it here: home.bip.net/millfield/OBJIO.zip The script works well in Blender 2.23. It presumably does not work with 2.25. NB: I didn't write this script, I've just mirrored it 'cuz I couldn't find the original ur...

Yup. That would be very useful too. I use that in Wings all the time (even though there's no explicit gizmo)

"winged edge stuff" refers to the internal structure in which the geometry data is stored. If I've understood things correctly, there's quite a heap of extra data associated with each and every "winged edge" containing info about what other edges it connects to, etc etc. This structure is what makes...

It's a good idea. It would be nice to get away from the view dependent editing sometimes. If it's a max-style gizmo or something else doesn't matter as long as it allows transformation/rotation along a specified axis regardless of the current view.

I on the other hand don't think it would be that difficult. It would be as easy as implementing a new edit mode in which users can select edges instead of vertices. Sure. Winged edge stuff is about a lot more than just selecting edges... But if someone else feels the same way, I suppose we could ju...

Re: Edge Loop Based Modeling Tools

Though Wings3d is also freeware, it requires the user to install additional software, and is fairly buggy. Not true anymore. Sure, it's freeware allright, but there's no additional things to install. The erlang modules required have been packed into the monolithic installer for quite some time now....

That's an excellent idea. Should have been done already, IMO... If it's a no-go, I'd settle for an ordinary pub while waiting.

Are you a lawyer, or just a funny guy... Ack! Not a lawyer anyways... sheesh, a friend of mine studied law for some five or six years, and when he finally got his diploma, he decided to continue his previous work as a roof repair-man instead. He couldn't imagine actually working as a lawyer, since ...
