"Forum" vs. "Topics"

Is there some good reason to have two incompatible blog systems on the site? Or is that a legacy of something?

What's the status of the build process?

The first step was supposed to be reorganizing the sources and the build process. How's that coming? When will blender be easily buildable under Win2K? Thanks.

This guy should meet Kai Krause, who did Kai's Power Tools and Bryce. Kai is into user interfaces as performance art - they're really cool, but incomprehensible. Bryce was a landscape generator, with an interface more suited to a video game. In Bryce, after you'd done what the program considered goo...

Hmmm... that does sound nice. I personally think the natural action of the mousewheel with no modifier keys should be zooming in 3D space as phase had originally set it up (I like it this way, and this is also consistent with how wings does it). Since it is impossible to zoom or scroll when you are...

Has somebody thought this through? The mouse wheel is too important to be misused. Please, don't blow this opportunity. The mouse wheel is most powerful when used for 3D editing. When you're in a mode where the mouse moves an object or vertex in the window's plane, the mouse wheel should move it per...

There's a reason the iconic and visual layouts are so popular and the reason is that they help the user more than they hinder him. Instead of attacking visual interfaces it would be more productive to support unification of key based and visual based interfaces, a hybrid if you will. Thre most prod...

Minor improvements to the present interface could make it much easier to use. A drastic change is probably premature. But cleanup would help. It's OK that the interface is unusual. But it needs to be very consistent in its unusualness. I'd previously used a version of Blender that didn't have the to...

"Free" Blender situation very confusing

Coming back after the NaN bankruptcy, I'm glad to see that Blender is now free software, more or less. But the present situation is very confusing. A clear first step is to have usable executables for download. Right now, there's blender.org and blender3d.org. Blender3d.org's download link refers yo...
